Sniper has zero escape. Treads doesn't add much survivability, the AS isn't great, the need to tread switch for mana is few and far between unless you're spamming the ult everytime its off CD. Sniper has shit tier damage early on, +24 is great coupled with bash damage. Phase allows you to get positioning, a chance to survive a gank(provided they don't have slows, but you'd be fucked with treads in that case too), and you can chase with the speed boost+his range+ult.
I dunno why you'd reply to that with a childish post, but that's why I get them over treads. Now tell me why I'm stupid for skipping treads.

I remember it fairly vividly, and I think it was posted in this thread, but I can't go back through 40-something pages to find it.

Except with headshot being stupidly powerful (both the ministun and the damage), you want to stack speed as much and as early as possible. You don't need +24 damage when you have a 40% chance to deal more than that every time you attack.

Maybe you're forgetting the fact that Sniper has no escape and every once of movespeed he can get can help him survive.

Generally people go into the Phase/Manta build or the Treads/Lothars build, because both make you a speedy monster and help you attack fast.

Getting manta with phase seems kinda counterproductive, illusion damage only works off of base damage. Sniper's main source of damage for the first 30-odd minutes of the game comes primarily from headshot, from experience bombing attack speed early is the most effective.

At the end, around 75th minute, they were pushing EVERYWHERE.
You couldn't even spend 10 seconds healing in the base. Mega creeps were everywhere
and we needed to be together everytime they showed up.
I already had all items my guide suggested me to. I just couldn't think of anything
in the hurry so I went S&Y because of the movespeed. It was my last item in the end. Afterwards I regret it of course, since Jakiro doesn't need it.
