Ignore enchant (except as a slow), put everything into untouchable and healing (and Impetus of course). Destroy the lane with impetus and massive survivability (against right-clickers anyway).
I mean, better that than feeding the enemy jungle creeps and yourself by trying to gank when you know it won't go well.

Spirit Breaker is named that because he breaks your spirit of being the carrier of your team because he beats the shit out of you and your entire team early game, so theres no coming back from it
I built vanguard on spirit breaker, I felt like such a dick.
Sure vanguard is meh, but I was basically unkillable.
They had a jug as well, and im pretty sure vanguard blocks some of the damage. It helped me dive him so much.
Poor jug, his spirit was broken.
