Quake 1 is probably the game I'm looking forward to playing the most with OR.
I'm looking forward to games like Skyrim. Just a huge, pretty world to explore and sight-see in.

Bethesda games are probably where I'm going to spend most of my time. I hope the moddable nature of TES and Fallout gives them full rift compatability.
Also are there any Hydra plastic mounts? Like the wiimote has guns and tennis rackets and tonnes of shit.
Was getting a bit annoyed that my Rift wasn't shipped yet, even though I was amongst the first Kickstarter backers. Decided I'd send an email to Oculus Support to query the order status and ask for an ETA.
Halfway through writing the email a DHL Shipment Notification arrived in my inbox for a 'gaming headset'. I shit you not, those guys at Oculus read minds from halfway across the world.

Once your Rift arrives check it for mind-reading capabilities.
Leap Motion is coming out on the 13th of May, so you can have full hand & finger tracking
I honestly can't wait for the customer version, here I'm hoping it's <2013

Man, I wish it could have been released in 2012 as well.

How do I feel? Motion sick actually, seems I'll need to spend some time growing VR legs.
Edit:
Tried TF2 VR and it's a blast. Almost completely forgot my motion sickness while playing it. However I think the immersive experience is hampered quite a lot because of the low pixel density at the moment. Luckily they have all the time in the world to improve that for the consumer version.
Edit 2:
Eating heavy's sandvich is the most amazing thing in VR.

Only a matter of time before we can scan ourselves into virtual avatars.
That's very interesting, although I imagine natural looking movement will be a hurdle.
[editline]23rd April 2013[/editline]
If you combined that with the omni... jesus christ I'm not sure if I'm excited or terrified at that prospect.
[editline]23rd April 2013[/editline]
It seems like every VR-related tech is coming out of the woodworks with the success of/ public interest in Oculus.
I'm not anticipating Omni in the slightest.
Seems just way too limiting, and I don't believe the immersion you get from walking makes up for how much it breaks with the slightest bit of vertical movement.
I'm not sure what the omni's value might be, but I was just thinking that being able to have avatars of that quality + oculus rift + the natural walking of the omni would result in a remarkable tech epoch for online meetups.

I wanted to make this post, but I didn't know how much hate it would get. But yeah, I think it would work best with a whole simulated...environment.
I'm only looking forward to the omni for walking games like proteus and dear esther and for hyperrealistic games like Arma. But I guess I enjoy the physical act of walking, so maybe I'm in the minority.
I enjoy the physical act of walking
what are you some kind of jock?
Are these things any good? I just got my pair in the mail but I haven't had the time to try them.

God, I'd better get into shape then.
Doing a VR tour past friends and family with my Rift, blowing minds all around. Those geniuses at Oculus probably foresaw this behaviour with the early adopters and that's why we get such a neat protective case to carry all the gear around in.
Played on a TF2 server in VR for 30 minutes straight and now I feel funny. I no longer seem to get terribly motion sick, but it still stirs your senses a bit for some time after you stop playing.

Yeah I'm not too convinced either. Lots of possible practical issues.
I had a dream where I got the Oculus Rift. I'm so damn excited for the consumer version.
I had a dream where I played Dishonored through the Oculus. I was so sad when I woke up. I actually thought I had the consumer version.
