It's not included in the accessory list like it was for DK1, so it is assumed it wont be. I heard back and forth it was slashed due to costs, a lot of people didn't want it, etc. I don't think I can find an official statement on it though.
oh man I really liked my DK1 carry case

Porn is going to be AMAZING in the coming years! Wat.
Where is the kickstarter
Instead of taking any risks, EA will sit back and watch how VR works out before doing anything. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/don-t-expect-battlefield-or-mass-effect-in-virtual-reality-anytime-soon/1100-6419469/ No money to be made yet, no games. Which results in no games, so no money - but that's EA for you, only looking at short term profits. Can't expect a bunch of suits to understand long term stuff.

There's no market for VR yet, and nobody has any idea when we'll actually be seeing a launch date for these things. It wouldn't make sense for them to develop a VR blockbuster before the hardware's available to play it. I wouldn't say they're not making games because there's no money to be made per se, but rather because it doesn't make sense to make a game for niche hardware with no market distribution at all. Once these things are out for a year or so, and the market's well-established, EA will be putting out games with the rest of them. Also, we need to remember that EA has been burned by experimental technologies before. Have we so soon forgotten the revolutionary Kinect?
Except I can't remember anyone actually being excited for the Kinect. It was one of those weird pipe dreams foisted on consumers disproportionately to the demand, at least from what I've seen. The Rift is completely different.

Yes, it's a more revolutionary product, but it still doesn't have any sort of market demand right now.
Sony is busy making their one, and Facebook just bought Oculus so I think it's going to become far more mainstream in the coming months.

Aww yess fucking finally there's going to be an anime convention here and somehow a DV1 will end up there. I'll finally be able to test a Rift :v:

Once you slap that CV1 on someone's head there's no way they won't immediately empty their wallets in Oculus' general direction.

I wouldn't want a company like EA creating a VR-only game right at the start. Being a huge company, it would have some degree of guaranteed success in sales, even if the game isn't really that good. VR concepts could be executed wrong, and yet become the standard. I think the way to properly develop VR ideas are small projects that engage new ideas, like Portal did.

Lighten up.)
To be fair, even GabeN mentioned in his Reddit AMA that Valve will not be making a pure-VR title until the market is well established.
Well it's not like Valve is going to release a game before the VR market is well-established anyway.

They event went to try the DK1 and said it was incredible even though it was extremely low-res.
Leap Motion has updated their SDK to include full skeletal tracking. This may make it a legit contender for hand tracking as it is a drastic improvement over the old software. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBG-jxQ6Hak[/hd]
The lead electrical engineer of google glass has jumped to oculus http://techcrunch.com/2014/05/15/adrian-wong-oculus/
At this rate, anyone who is even remotely skilled in the field of VR will end up working at Oculus before the end of the year.
The lead electrical engineer of google glass has jumped to oculus http://techcrunch.com/2014/05/15/adrian-wong-oculus/
Maybe he wanted to work on a product that would actually come out this decade... Seriously, I'm still waiting for my consumer Glass, which they've conveniently said nothing about. At least Oculus has plans for a CV model.
I can't wait for good control methods to start being produced and utilized. I'm looking forward greatly to Sixense's stuff to be tested by the average Joe.
Man this VR stuff is so crazy. What's next, Muppets wearing Rifts? Oh.

The name change was the beginning of the downhill roll.

yesss [t]https://scontent-b-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/t31.0-8/10264047_499654130164442_5118611334834772373_o.jpg[/t] I mean noo the computer they set it on was shit so it ran at 30fps maximum, which was kinda bad. The screen door effect is REALLY noticeable on the DK1 but if they fixed that... Damn. Felt odd at first but then as I grew attached to it I really got myself into it. Shame it was a display so I had no time to fix it properly above my head but overall I'd say it's pretty fucking cool.
what game?
