Mar 19, 2014 10:05 AM PDT Hope I'll be amongst the first European batches.
Damn I'll be lucky to ever get it this month at all.
Note to self when CV1 goes on sale preorder immediately My credit card is ready
This month? As in placed order today/yesterday? You'll have to wait longer than august [editline]2nd July 2014[/editline] Oculus just changed the pre-order page. It now says "New orders are expected to begin shipping in September 2014." https://www.oculusvr.com/order/
oh whoops I thought I was in june for some reason, my order is august.
see you on July 14th bitches
see u soon bby
Note to self when CV1 goes on sale preorder immediately My credit card is ready
Cv1 wont have this much of a shortage... I dont think. They know to ramp up manufacturing for it, they're just trying to get devkits in the hands of developers asap Also they have all that facebook money now
Is CV1 going to be a consumer version if so must I prepare my credit card for it?
Is CV1 going to be a consumer version if so must I prepare my credit card for it?
what do you think the C stands for?
Is CV1 going to be a consumer version if so must I prepare my credit card for it?

what do you think the C stands for?
I started to realise this when I was watching a video about DK2 and wanted to come back to remove my post I feel incredible stupid now. Damn I dont think I can wait another year thought should I dive in for order on dk2 now or is it to late?

to be honest i dont think anyone knows when cv1 will be out at the very least i'd wait to order dk2; wait until the backorders go down. that way while you wait there might be news about cv1
i'm gonna throw my hat out and say CV1 beginning of next year at the earliest
so what software should i download to mess around with? list so far: half life 2 team fortress 2 vr cinema (hope this works well with 3d blurays / blurays in general, i like watching pacific rim on my 3d tv!) hawken war thunder euro truck simulator 2 does portal 2 have vr support? side note on the cinema: i hope to god companies release uncropped imax movies now that VR is a thing. Its always a shame watching a bluray like TDK and knowing it is cut off.
i'm gonna throw my hat out and say CV1 beginning of next year at the earliest
My guess is Holiday 2014, as it has been, since it would make a logical follow-up gap after the DK2 release. The last PS4 dev kits were sent out six months before launch, and I'm aware that's pretty common practice. Of course, Oculus has never been one for common practice. I'd say we're due to hear something about CV1 soon, and if it launches this Holiday, it would pave the way for some big periphery announcements at next year's E3 (which they promised, but nobody knows what it'll be yet.) Then again, I could be wrong. Luckey's being super tight-lipped about it, for good reason. It's not something you want to rush, especially this early. That's what killed it in the 90s. The developers need to recompile with the DK2 SDK for their demos to work. DK1 demos will not start using the DK2. So throw out all those games out of the window. There are almost no confirmed DK2 demos yet because the SDK isn't out. Elite: Dangerous supports it "out of the box" as they've been able to develop with their DK2. The Ghibli demos (spirited away + totoro) are also working along with the Kite & Lightning demos (batcave, station, senza peso). There's also a couple of others but I forgot their names. [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline] Honestly the first things I'll try are the Ghibli demos.

I think I understand why they've said not to buy the dev kits if you're not a developer now. I'm sure someone'll come along soon and release a compatibility patch though. That seems to be in the spirit of the community.

Its 2014, only shitty EA and ubisoft ports lock at certain framerates for the sake of knowing update time I'm sure there are other reasons why you need to recompile though
Oculus is cancelling a lot of Chinese pre-orders because tons of them buy DK2s just to resell for profit (surprise, it's China). The country has been removed from the order form too so Chinese can't get DK2s anymore. This is just one guy. Also one of the resellers talking with Oculus support:
"We did a scrub for known resellers recently and found your orders. You knew you weren't supposed to purchase our product from our previous interactions for DK1, yet you continued to do so. Please do not purchase our development kits and wait for our consumer product." The guy purchase for the company received. After reply then this. "I have spoken to you multiple times before. We know that you are are reselling our product. We do not allow this. Your orders will continue to be canceled and refunded. We will block your IP if you continue to purchase. Thank you. Kevin Oculus VR Support"
Sucks for the (few) legit Chinese devs, but whatcha gonna do. Atleast our DK2s will come faster now!
greedy people spoiling it for those who really want one what a shame
For some reason Oculus is unpacking their DK2s at Anime Expo 2014 [t]http://i.imgur.com/hQVS4Ne.jpg[/t] [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline] Hopefully they will showcase the Totoro and Spirited Away demos [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline] https://twitter.com/oculus/status/484763823048368128
About to go live with @sao_anime @SwordArtUSA in the @AnimeExpo South lobby! pic.twitter.com/l2ZaiYGbi9
Sword Art Online game for the Rift! i wonder if they have rifts at the ghibli museum with those demos, which i'll be going to at the end of the month hopefully i'll have my devkit before then but it would be neat since then my sister that lives in japan could try one

Man, I could totally go right now to Anime Expo... But I'm too lazy to go.
Blizzard's CCO leaves the company after 17 years. Also mentions VR.
As to what I will be doing next, I don’t have an answer for you yet . . . but I will “when it’s ready.” My priorities are to enjoy the summer with my family, play plenty of games, and think about what’s next. The game industry is such an exciting place right now with PC gaming thriving, the new consoles, mobile games, and virtual reality becoming an actual reality. It’s like having an empty quest log and going into a new zone for the first time.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/13348514719#1 I bet Oculus smells blood in the water. Go snatch him up! [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline]
I don't know why but that'd be rad.
oh god palmer it really is an SAO game
even if they didn't have an SAO game, who better to show this stuff off to than the kids who've been loudly clamoring about nervegear becoming a reality since oculus was barely a whisper
