can't say they're not good at drama then
herm updated LFS AND the SDK and now LFS is all fucked up. no tracking and it looks almost like the eyes are switched. [editline]12th August 2014[/editline] dunno which update messed it up since i did both [editline]12th August 2014[/editline] and i can't get riftmax past the health and safety screen :(
I haven't updated to the new SDK/runtime yet because of all the problems I'm hearing. LFS still works fine with 0.4.0 and the F6 patch.
go ahead and update. the problem i was having was patching it set it back to 2d (aka my own idiocy). riftmax is just a piece of crap i think. finally got the main menu and now nothing will load (starting my own theater or joining one)
Riftmax DK2 is still in beta. It doesn't work well for me either. [editline]12th August 2014[/editline] DK3 confirmed. Codename juniper dildo. https://twitter.com/tom_forsyth/status/499325907530944513
Could it simply be a joke?
Could it simply be a joke?
nope its confirmed mod posted it confirmination confirmed
I am the confirmatory of confirmation here to confirm his confirmation.
News of specs for it, of some kind, would be great to hear at the upcoming event this month. Sucks that I have to wait even longer for CV1 but I MUST ENDURE THE PAIN. It shall be worth it. If they announce arm/hand/finger tracking via some crazy means like cameras for eyes, I will melt.
...a 3rd devkit? Aw shit... It feels like a CV1 announcement will be even farther away now.
...a 3rd devkit? Aw shit... It feels like a CV1 announcement will be even farther away now.
Why does the third dev kit have to come after CV1? It could just be a CV1 with developer-specific features, like the latency tester. Could even do a simultaneous release.
sounds like the next batch has started going out!
UK shipments are so far ahead than US. I'm crying
UK shipments are so far ahead than US. I'm crying
there there crapt, you'll be able to immerse yourself in anime in time
I've been getting a wierd drift in E:D, i have to keep resetting the perspective. Anyone know how to fix?
Getting my DK2 in just a few more weeks.
Sixense released a few new demonstration vids of the STEM system (successor to the Razer Hydra for those not in the know). I should be getting my 3-tracker bundle in October :) Nice to see you can place the base station almost anywhere nearby now.
I wonder what's going on with the tactical haptics guys.
Interesting video from a VR simulator [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm0lA0enPSk[/hd] (They also use the DK1 in it.)
Have the steam games been updated to DK2? I think I saw something today?
Have the steam games been updated to DK2? I think I saw something today?

The SteamVR Beta has been updated with the following changes. General: Added support for Rift Dev Kit 2 HMDs. Positional tracking is supported on Windows and OSX. Fixed some cases where vrserver would stay running whenever Steam was running. Fixed cases where vrserver would start to consume CPU over time. Windows: vrserver.exe will no longer run on machines that don’t have a VR HMD connected. Known Issues: Positional Tracking on the DK2 does not work on Linux If the Oculus OVRService_*.exe is not running but an HMD is attached calls to init SteamVR will take a few seconds to return failure. Only “Extend Desktop” mode is supported.
http://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/179336229464518511

Also it seems LFS has a metric shit ton of Rifters in it. Almost every server I go to, if I ask if anyone else is using the Rift I always get a response. The perfect DK2 support must have gotten the developer a shit load of new sales, so good for him. Also saw a couple of servers for Rift users.
http://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/179336229464518511
SteamVR is the VR support for HL2, TF2, etc right?
oh i guess that means tf2/hl2 works on the rift now? neato
SteamVR is the VR support for HL2, TF2, etc right?
Yes.
oh i guess that means tf2/hl2 works on the rift now? neato
They have for quite some time, this was just an update for DK2 support.
sorry, i meant dk2
"You're receiving this email because your Oculus Order #HP-0395*** is about to ship." Ordered really late on Mar 21st, I know a few of you are ahead of me.
Apparently HL2 now works with DK2: http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2dkyf7/half_life_2_now_working_with_dk2/
To get it working you need to go to Steam/ library/tools, right click (may have to double clink and install it first) steam vr>properties> beta tab and opt into beta, wait for update, restart steam and activated vr mode in halflife 2. leave Oculus utility on, in extended mode. Have fun.
Add -freq 75 to the HL2 launch options and you should be good to go. [editline]15th August 2014[/editline] Just tried it. Seems they didn't add the positional tracking yet. And I'm still experiencing judder when moving my head :(
