Ordered really late on Mar 21st, I know a few of you are ahead of me.
Ditto here. Ordered not long before midnight, so maybe some 22nds got in, too.
I'm hearing orders all the way to the 25th are going through.
I just bought myself a HOTAS system, sort of preparation for Rift-based dogfighting games.
I play enough dogfighting games now to make it worthwhile, so it's not entirely anticipatory, but it'll be so much cooler when I can stick on a Rift and fly around in Elite:Dangerous's Persistent Universe. That'll have to wait until the game isn't $75, though, so that may be a while.
Until then, I've got Kerbal, Warframe, and Planetside. Those should be good fun.

awesome that means the bulk is done. now all the orders should start catching up.
As some gangly bug with lint stuck to it flies bout my room, I wonder:
Will giant bugs actually become scary, given proper animation, in VR?
aaaah shit yes

There's a demo where a giant spider chases you in a cave tunnel, it's pretty cool.

I've got a super shitty EDF thing I'm planning on building in UE4 to test out stuff like that. I want to know just how big shit can feel.

I had a lot of money to play with. I'm excited as fuck now.

do you play as a hobbit?
Oculus have shipped my missing DK2 panel covers, great support!
Can't wait to get back from holiday to try HL2 etc with the DK2 haha
Edit: Found the shit i was looking for but one question:
I'm not a developer or anything, should I wait for a consumer release or are they usable and fun right now as they are?

They're usable, but you have the lingering thought of denying a developer their own devkit for another few months.

Is there any indication of a release date on the CV1?
Is there any indication of a release date on the CV1?
2015 ... don't worry about "denying" someone a dk2 unless you're buying like 5. Shipping problems came from the massive influx of people buying on day 1. Soon it'll catch up and everything will run properly.
Don't worry about it. If you have the disposable income for it and you really want to use that disposable income on a DK2 then go for it.

I've always wanted to do more immersive sim racing and gaming so it seemed like a good thing to have, i'm not super desperate for one, I was just wondering if its worth buying a DK when a CV was close enough to release anyway.
Titans of Space DK2 has been released:

Worked instantly for me and is buttery smooth in Direct Mode. Still one of my favourite demos!

Well, with a dk3 coming out supposedly, I'd say you might as well wait for that... But then you might as well wait for the CV1. Aaagh!

Yeah it's excellent. The resolution increase is a godsend and probably the most noticeable of most of the demos.
They hype is real!

I wish the australian shipping would catch up :(
got a notice that the company credit card is having problems. Not sure if a number was punched wrong or the boss lost and canceled that particular card (again)
at least this means they're trying to process something. We ordered 4/9
[editline]e[/editline]
they approved and charged the card now, says will ship once it's back in stock!
titans of space was amazing.

The DK2 is not a product ready for consumer release (that answer has probably been given as much as your question has been asked :v:). A lot of people gain interest and think the DK2 is perfect in its current form when in fact a lot of the hype is being built up by current YouTube celebrities and people hoping to be, and you don't get as many views and subscribers by critically analyzing the DK2 or the demos they play than what they do when screaming "THIS IS SO COOL OH MY GOD". The software devs themselvses are also in an early stage and it shows in what is currently available for DK2 owners - few games have HMD implementation that feel natural with movement and interaction is accounted for. That said I've had a DK2 since July 31st and to answer your question: yes, the DK2 is usable and fun in its current state. I enjoy trying out the new demos and the games that get compatibility, despite the flaws I find in them. And you probably won't lose money on your purchase for quite some time if you find out it's not something for you.
