Tried HL2 VR. Learned two things: (1) still have judder issues in HL2 no matter what I try. (2) My hydra analog sticks are pretty fucked by now (the whole product has terrible build quality to begin with).
But throwing a grenade over your shoulder is pretty neat.

I got a Hydra at $90 on ebay. But if you wait, Six Sense will release the STEM which is basically an upgrade in all ways of Hydra.

Any idea how much it would cost when it gets released? I'm thinking around the same as the Rift which may be around $250.

Not looking good price-wise. The two-tracker system is for hands, like the Hydra. $300. The three is for hands and the advanced head [I]position[/I] tracking (not to be confused with the Oculus's headtracking). $390. And the five is for hands, head, and feet, which allow for walking and crouching and shit. $580.
Shit's expensive.
I think I'll pass for now. I need to buy the Oculus when it comes out and upgrade my pc.

As annoying as the Hydra controller is, it plus the CV1 should be enough for your average enthusiast.

But the price for Hydras seem to have risen since DK1 and DK2. Used to be lower to around $100 when I first started looking for a set.
Personally, I hate most of the design on the Hydra and it's base. The only reason I got it was to combine it with the Oculus.
Wait, I may have been wrong about the STEM tracking stuff. Here's some videos. They explain the Five-Tracker System. They also show the Head Positional Tracking.

Only thing is, the games/programs are going to need to make use of all those trackers. I think the 2 controllers would be enough.
You can also buy the trackers seperately.

A lot better than DK1, a LOT better.
But, still not perfect. CV1 should be great.
With this talk of a DK3 it makes me think I'll be having children sooner than I'll be seeing the CV1
