and hooray australian orders have caught up by a month! finally. My 28th order just changed to processing
Do you receive an email notification when that happens or do you just have to routinely check your status?
I got an email, and it seems like everyone else has gotten one too. when did you order?
So that 3X guy was you eh. Was a fun night.
:v: Oh right, yeah that was little ol' me. I really hope he emails me about some of that stuff, ive been kicking myself for not using my rift for productive things
my DK2 just arrived, except it's half the country away along with my desktop computer at my mother's house
words cannot express my frustration
my order page updated! what does this mean?
"Ready: We've successfully processed the payment and information for your order. It will be shipped as soon as the items are available in stock."

Uh, pretty sure it means what it says there, they're out of units so they'll send you one as soon as they have them in stock again.

Well I just wondered what it meant, because before it was pending and that's basically the same thing because they already processed my payment
Is there any co-op oculus rift games with positional tracking that I can play with my friend who doesn't have an oculus rift? just so I can mess around with it while playing with him. As he lives in a different country.

So far the closes thing I see the most people playing is Riftmax theater, not much of a game but it has monitor mode too
the riftmax tracking is bad when its at its best
just wait for oculus theater or whatever

Agreed but as far as what meets his request Riftmax is one of the only ones available right now that has dk2 support as well as a monitor mode for people without a rift.
Personally id love more multiplayer games though, cant find many good ones, or are not just oculus rift'ified games like minecrift

does TF2 allow rifters to play with non-rifters? I never tried it out
One of the games I want to see the most with positional tracking and oculus rift support is garrys mod. Definitely. Just running around in some good little RP server selling stuff, buying stuff, you know. Sounds brilliant. Thanks for the rift max suggestion by the way.

half life 2 has positional tracking does it not? what about hl2dm?
does TF2 allow rifters to play with non-rifters? I never tried it out
Yeah it does, but I was referring to more games made for rift then games made to work with it, I keep forgetting about some of the vr comparable games like that
Tried Hl2 Deathmach as well it worked as well, war thunder and so on but there's not too many Multiplayer games that where made FOR rift though, ones that fully utilize it, is what i was mostly talking about.

It does, just nothing like full body visualization of it working, just moves the whole model around

multiplayer valve source games will not track you afaik
IE in tf2 if you turn your head I assume that your character does nothing to everyone else

Timerifters is very fun imo, just not mutiplayer
So I started studying at a University in Denmark and it turns out that they have a whole bunch of VR stuff here available for students, like the DK1 and DK2 and some other VR stuff. I am so gonna work on some game or whatever using that stuff.

Well, or course is partially about games so that's basically the kind ofstuff a lot of us will be making.

I meant it as a joke like you'll be playing with it more than you're working with it. bad joke sorry

That might happen actually.
Does anyone have any cool Oculus Rift DK2 demos? A co-worker asked me if I had any because some big ass customers come by today and he wants to show off the possibilitys with it.
Lava Inc. is generally smooth as silk and has a good sense of presence.
If you have hydras, the HLVR mod.
Miku Entertainment Sphere Stage if they're weeaboos.
Gottlieb is cool.
If you have a beast rig, you could go with the classic Senza Peso.
Just remember the usual, set to extended mode and make sure the Rift is your primary monitor, and that their IPDs have been setup correctly etc.
Extended mode? I've had mine set to clone of my primary.
Big news. The first CV1s will roll out in Summer 2015. A limited beta batch for developers.

Summer? Damn. Well, at least it won't distract me from my studies this year.
I don't know about their claim that they won't release through normal retail channels... I think having in-store demos is going to be key to selling these things in any reasonable volume.

they're already selling the things in reasonable volumes, but I was pretty hopeful it'd be something you could eventually come across at a best buy or gamestop.
Having freely accessible public trial units for something that jams onto your face is a sanitary nightmare though, it's already saddening just trying to touch demo controllers and handhelds at stores, they're always so grimey and any screen/plastic/glassy elements are scratched all to hell.
Having said that though, I wouldn't be surprised if oculus got a deal to demo their units at these kinds of locations, with a station manned by one or more representatives doing the demos to ensure people understand it well.

Interesting, I wonder how it will differ from the public CV1 if at all.
