So with Oculus Connect coming up do you guys think they will mention anything controller wise?
god damnit, fucking sweden and our ridiculous taxes i'm just gonna go in hibernation mode on oculus news from now on
no don't do that when you return in a few months all you'll get is "x is the current plan and specs" you'll miss out on endless demo videos, neat projects, and speculation station for new hardware accessories
God, extended mode is such a pain. I wish more games used direct mode and also worked.

Got an email from Australia Post today saying that my OCR has been shipped yet my order status is still on Processing. Oh well, I hope it arrives by the end of the week.
Does anyone else get distracted by the blurriness along the edges of the lenses? Mainly the lower-right part of my right lens seems to be quite blurry. Maybe it's because the screen itself has become sharper that I tend to notice the downsides of the optics more compared to DK1.

Contacts made a huge difference for me.

I might try swapping to the B lenses for general use anyways, it seems when I show it off a lot of the people seem to be out just to prove it's not worth it, nitpicking the hell out of being able to see the black borders and that it's blurry away from the center, one even commented that he could see light out the top of the unit. Like, through the air vents by your face
yeah the vents letting in light is a bit of a shame but it's better than having your face melt off

[editline]15th September 2014[/editline]
yeah the vents letting in light is a bit of a shame but it's better than having your face melt off
You know, you could probably cover them with some sort of thin nylon mesh to help with that. One of my dad's friends who does Star Wars cosplay uses that for his helmet vents, and he says it works pretty well.
Well, no Oculus testing today. Moved to Friday :( Oh well, at least it will still happen this week.

Windlands is up on Indiegogo. The old demo is still one of my favourite VR experiences: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/windlands [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] Holy shit the new DK2 demo is fucking AMAZING (it has the whole area shown in the video). A MUST play for anyone with a Rift!
Goddamnit, I keep going on various local sites looking for people selling the DK2 so I won't have to wait two months for it to deliver, and this one guy was selling it relatively cheap so I decided to jump on it and I was actually his first priority until some fucker decided to pay double the price given, so I got blown off Anyone in the Stockholm, Sweden area who doesn't want their DK2 anymore and wanna sell? :v:

its neat but it needs mouse look for vertical. climbing and looking straight up hurts my neck
if you want to try vr but cant afford it or just cant wait, buy google cardboard and use trinus gyre app to stream pc vr games to cardboard vr. its -almost- same as dk1 and like 3$. it will keep you busy for a while
its neat but it needs mouse look for vertical. climbing and looking straight up hurts my neck
vertical mouse look is 100% going to eat you alive with motion sickness. The ONE thing you should NEVER give control over in VR is the horizon, without good reason or other frame of reference present (like a cockpit)
i was already eaten a live with motion sickness from that demo. i don't think i've ever not felt barfy after using the rift [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] like i think it should be mouse look + rift offset. so rift would still work fine basically mouse would move hips and shit but rift would move neck
It has a massive vertical tear in the right eye on my end though :(
Fixed by not disabling Windows Aero when playing. The demo doesn't seem to utilize Timewarp yet from what I can see though.

I didn't get even a hint of motion sickness after half an hour in the Windlands demo.
Fixed by not disabling Windows Aero when playing. [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] It's quite an extreme demo for people that might not have their VR-legs yet. But as good a place as any to start right? :v:
Yeah the framerate is spot on. Press F3 to see all the stats n shit. Timewarp just shows as N/A there, but the FPS is 75. Also C for some reason brings up a cursor and greatly brightens up the scene.

Not expecting a lot but hopefully it will satisfy my thirst a little bit...or make it worse.
