For Alien Iso. If you have multiple monitors and trying to get it working, but doesn't show up in the RIFT. Change the default monitor in your display options. Cycle through until the game ends up on the rift.
Took me a good while to figure that one out.
Did you do anything to get it working? I can't launch with DK1, either.
The original config in the OP of the reddit thread didn't work for me but this did
<Setting name="Stereo Mode">
<Quality name="Rift" int="1" precedence="2"/>
</Setting>
Also for good measure
in BENCHMARK_TEMPLATE.TXT
change
Stereo Mode=Rift
3) In the oculus configuration utility pause the service.
4) start with AI.exe -engine_settings=benchmark_template.txt
Throwing out a quick recommendation for Beneath. Very cool demo, and great for demonstrations. Recommended you play it in a dark environment though, light bleeding from the side of the Rift is a bit annoying.
What's the most amazing demo to experience as your first time in VR? Is it still Titans of Space?
Titans is the best yeah. There's also lava Inc, from ashes, and welcome to oculus.

Don't really like Lava Inc. The short turns are an easy way to give the user motion sickness. The leaning mechanic to change your speed is neat though.
the only thing I tried was hawken with the HD Prototype back then. Even that alone was amazing (even though it wasn't adjusted right so it was kinda blurry).
now I can't decide if I should get the DK2 or wait for the CV1
as always,
don't get dk2 if you can't program stuff
the average consumer will not enjoy the product once they've played all the demos
developer kits are for developers, who will like it anyway for their ability to add to it

Hey guuuyyyys I'm doing my Bachelor's dissertation on the Rift, and it'd be awesome if you could help me out?
Carmack talking about HMDs in August 2011.
http://youtu.be/hapCuhAs1nA?t=25m16s
He probably mentioned HMDs before (maybe even in the QuakeCon keynote), but it's still fun to know that he would start working with Oculus 2 years later
I stood in line for three hours to test the oculus rift in a racing chair with a racing wheel playing project cars. It was worth it holy shit.
wait, there WAS a rift demo at the con?
Fuck me god damn it
at least I got to yell at the president of tripwire

After building a $10 racing cockpit a few days ago for an upcoming lan I realized how damn awesome they are to use and I'm thinking I want to fab one out of steel to use with a HOTAS/Racing wheel for when Rift releases. I can only imagine how awesome racing, or flying would be in Rift.

this sounds like the beginning of an interesting story. or maybe you just yelled at him, dunno.
Just curious, would a headset be the best bet for rift? I'm big into home theater and would love to set up a nice 15" sub w/transducers and surround sound but that might not be the best choice for rift since directional audio wouldn't follow your head. Is there any evidence that they will have support for 3D sound with traditional speakers? Something like it senses the rotation of your head and offsets the sound accordingly, but I'm doubtful. Anyone know?
Maybe setting up the transducers+headphones would be the best immersion.
So any update on North American shipping for the DK2s? I ordered mine mid-August and I see that a lot of orders placed around the same time in Europe have already been shipped.

definitely headset > speakers for VR

Him: who's played Killing Floor 1?
*a few hands raised*
Him: ehh, lemme ask that again. Who here played Killing Floor 1?
*scattered cheers*

New metaverse announced for Rift and Morpheus, and it's endorsed by Zuckerbergs sister.

Assetto Corsa just got DK2 support. Also it looks like I'll receive my DK2 tomorrow, can't wait!

Yeah downloading now.
Bought the oculus thrift, realized that S3 doesn't support it's click function. Cry.
The AC implementation is buggy as fuck. LFS is still the go-to car sim in the Rift.
I got my DK2 today and Assetto Corsa is awesome, never drops below 75fps and it looks amazing. I spent the last 30 minutes looking at the interior of the car..
Anyone got DCS World running without any problems?

the hype is too real
Qbeh-1, a puzzle game on Steam with Rift support, is only a few bucks now: http://store.steampowered.com/app/252550/
It's quite fun, though they should really implement comfort mode because after a while you get a bit uncomfortable from the way the movement works.
TrackMania 2: Stadium also has working DK2 support now, it got patched a few hours ago.

How is it? I hope Canyon gets the same patch, driving around at ludicrous speed sounds like it would be fun as fuck (Or vomit-inducing, take your pick).
