They're still working on it on their own, like they did before, but that means it'll take so much longer. Maybe by the time it gets out, I'll have my own rift. Here's hopin'.
Hey, the game doesn't really need to come out until the Rift's out anyway, if that's the way they're wanting to take it. It's good to see they still consider it a passion project, though, unlike so many of the other games on Kickstarter.
Sometimes I'm sitting here in front of my computer, look up, and see just one of my eyes reflected in the lens of the Oculus' IR camera. Slightly disturbing.
Well I've got my oculus and I'm just having loads of trouble getting this to work, the camera isn't functioning at all
Installed the runtime? Both cables in the camera? All USB plugged in?
Installed the runtime? Both cables in the camera? All USB plugged in?
Yep everything is plugged in, this also right now isn't showing I even have it attached [t]http://i.imgur.com/MLt22Oy.png[/t] Ugh when I had the DK1 it was easier to setup :\
If you installed the runtime (from the oculus website; not anything that may pop up upon plugging it in), and all cables are in place, I don't know. Restart?

I did that and saw a lot of finnicky responsiveness with the runtime utility. Half the time it'd say the unit is detected and the other half it's like it wasn't even plugged in. As for jitteriness, you are likely experiencing judder. Ensure your DK2 is running in 75hz. To achieve this, do the following: 1. Set it to Extended mode 2. Set the Rift as your primary display 2a: OR, set your monitor's refresh rate to 75hz (it will reduce your resolution, but it's a necessary evil for achieving 75hz on the Rift) 3. Play a game Windows likes to lock all displays in an Extended setup to the refresh rate of whatever your primary display is set to. Even though the DK2 is a 75hz screen, Windows won't give a single fuck if your monitor is set to 60hz. [editline]24th November 2014[/editline] If you still have issues, lower the graphics options.

[editline]24th November 2014[/editline] Also a old demo I played on my DK1 doesn't seem to work with my DK2 it's the http://rustltd.com/projects/the-museum-of-the-microstar one
Damn VorpX is expensive, it runs so many games I want to play on rift though...
Damn VorpX is expensive, it runs so many games I want to play on rift though...
It's worth it, just expect to do a lot of tweaking to get it just right. Any game that lets you easily adjust FOV will be great, but others have horrendous support in that front making them almost unplayable.
Does vorpx still archieve 3D in rift or is it something that only enables headtracking and positional on a big virtual screen? In other news NoLimits2 got DK2 support on 26november so we can all enjoy our most favorite activity to relax and sit back in RollerCoasters. Unless other people are having this problem, don't go advertising the use of older USB versions. Don't endorse extended mode either. For some people (such as myself) Direct mode works just fine. Zeb should try to use that first. It has far less issues, except that it either works for you or it doesn't. Under Direct mode, you don't need to worry about any monitor settings.

Some demos that work just fine in direct mode give me judder in extended and vice versa. It would be awesome to just stay in direct mode but it's not difficult to keep switching back and forth.

What did for me is to plug the sync cable directly into my DK2 and then removing it again to how it was before as I dont like many cables coming from my face worked temporary and then it would stop working again repeat this process couple times and now it just works fine without having to plug in sync cable to rift. really weird and unlogical. Im also using USB3 powered hub for rift only. Now I dont really use my rift much besides elite dangerous and project cars. now with gamma release in E:D my positional tracking would stop working for couple seconds every 5-10 min or so very enoyying and immersion breaking and so many people dont got this problem which made me scratch my head even more as other people were complaining about their camera resetting in other vieuws but not freezing. Does someone know how to fix this? Or what could be possibly cauzing this? If you ever have problems with rift! It tends to fix itself by doing random stuff you should not do!
Oculus is attending CES 2015 as expected. January 6th!
Played some Fist Full Of Frags, that was pretty funny, very rough around the edges but fun.
I'm a food writer... Am I technically press?
You'd have to ask the CES people.
You'd have to ask the CES people.
I can write about the instantly-regretful $9 hot dogs.
that could be a funny website/blog, go to trade shows and rate all the food
So you guys heard of 3DHEAD, the Oculus killer? They actually have a stand at CES 2015, right next to the Oculus booth. But wait! It might be a ruse by Oculus themselves. This is what it shows when you subscribe to their newsletter: With the fact that the spot near Oculus cost around $150,000 to rent, it's pointing even more towards them. What is going to show up at the 3DHEAD booth? Why the fuck did Oculus do this? CV1 reveal conspiracy? An expensive joke? Marketing gimmick? We will see on January 6th!
Oh god, that video is SO bad it just has to be a marketing gimmick.

jesus, check out 3dhead.com
jesus, check out 3dhead.com
The best part about that is that clicking the link that supposedly leads to the 3DHead page gives you a 404. http://www.anakando.com/3dhead/
jesus, check out 3dhead.com
Sounds like a porn site with 3d videos honestly...
