Because that's her personal comfort position.
I'll show her my personal comfort position. [sp]With the keyboard directly facing the monitor.[/sp]
I thought everyone held their keyboard like a guitar. It's my personal impractical-but-awesome position. On a more on-topic note: Valve just updated the Source SDK, allowing modders to build Rift support into their Source mods.
Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless, that's what you're looking for. The sound blaster guys leased us (fragnet) a pair of them at the Dreamhack for our 1 on 1 event and they were wonderful. They aren't too big so they should fit with the oculus provided the consumer version will be smaller. Size: [T]http://puu.sh/3p3mE/ee1bb8dbdf.png[/T]
Mixed feelings about that headset, I heard good and bad things about it. I think I buy them when you really say they are worth it on all aspects
why is her keyboard at such a funny angle?
Cause she's a profesional player (Jennyzz) and profesional players do weird things.
http://sixense.com/wireless
SIXENSE TO LAUNCH WIRELESS MOTION TRACKING SYSTEM (Los Gatos, CA – June 27, 2013) – Sixense Entertainment, Inc., a pioneer in consumer motion tracking hardware and software, announced today that it will bring a Sixense-branded wireless system to the market. Sixense will release development kits that will support three wireless motion trackers and will include fully playable controllers compatible with games and applications developed for existing Sixense-powered products, including the Razer Hydra. The dev kits will allow Sixense to work directly with developers to create software for the upcoming consumer version or to develop their own controllers and motion tracking devices. “We’re excited to finally provide a wireless solution that addresses the needs of both consumers and developers,” said Amir Rubin, co-founder of Sixense. ”The ecosystem around gaming and virtual reality has grown dramatically, making now the perfect time to announce our new consumer product and direct-to-developer dev kits.” Sixense will provide additional details about the development kits, including price and availability, soon. For more information about Sixense visit www.sixense.com.
A wireless, more advanced Hydra, basically. Probably more expensive too.

Sweet, wireless Hydra controllers are exactly what we need, it complements the Rift wonderfully in some games. I really hope it'll have a better build quality and less flimsy buttons than its predecessor.
All what's left is wireless Rift.
All what's left is wireless Rift.
I think we're very far from wireless low-latency 1080p screens.
Why go wireless when you can bring the computer to your head? :eng101: Actually I think that is what is happening first to be honest. Look at the power of phones today for example. Who knows how much power we can pack in small cases in a few years?
I think we're very far from wireless low-latency 1080p screens.
OR could be used as a portable huge 60inch TV without fancy tracking features, and this combined with Shield wireless thing, you could play skyrim on 60inch TV in your bed or anywhere and since you don't need tracking, you won't get motion sickness.
darn this whole time I thought the rift came with basic ear speakers [editline]28th June 2013[/editline] seems I forgot it uses a strap
Not sure when I should expect my Rift tbh. I only ordered it on June 1st, but there's people from Norway on the official forums getting theres now and some of them have order numbers above mine. Hoping for a late July/Early Augest time frame but I duno.

I thought that was pointed out in an official statement, they'd rather let the users choose what works best for their gaming experience instead of slapping earphones on the unit and locking people into only what comes with the unit
Does the devkit provide any actual benefit to developers besides getting it earlier I was thinking of adding 3rd party Rift support to Tribes Ascend
Does the devkit provide any actual benefit to developers besides getting it earlier I was thinking of adding 3rd party Rift support to Tribes Ascend
its sole purpose is for developers to have the tech so they can better create support for their games, and come up with new ways to utilize the system. if you order now, you'll be waiting a few months though. Alternatively, you can pay double the price on ebay and run the risk of not even having a developer account to go along with it because people are asshats
Does the devkit provide any actual benefit to developers besides getting it earlier I was thinking of adding 3rd party Rift support to Tribes Ascend
You'll have a game ready (or almost ready) by the time the real, commercial Rift comes out.
What will horror games feel like in the Rift? Something like this:
I love how he says "I don't wanna be here anymore", he looks completely immersed :v:
I'd love to get a rift and make a hiking-focused game around it exclusively. That type of stuff (and exploration in general) would be a lot of fun I think, and relaxing, to play with a rift. Sadly, I still have one year of uni left so I'd basically have to drop out to do it (which does sound KIND OF appealing but not really something I want considering I'm essentially getting a free ride so I might as well take advantage). Also, I don't know programming very well (but I can script in languages like papyrus for Skyrim, which is python based, decently). And its the kind of game that would work best if I was enough of a wizard to make it actually look really good, something I wouldn't be able to easily pull off on my first Unity project :v: Maybe in the future.
I want to make a Drive By simulator/Paramedic simulator using Rift + Hydra. You start as the gangster with one hand on the wheel driving and in the other hand a gun you shoot somebody with, when you shoot somebody you turn into a paramedic and your shown how to perform CPR using the Hydra. Fun and education featuring 50 Cent music and Eazy E.
What will horror games feel like in the Rift? Something like this:
Oh my god, that looked like genuine pants-shitting fear. This is the future of (good) horror game letsplayers.
didn't Jack Thompson suggest a game where you play the victim of a GTA game by getting shot and spending several months in a hospital or something
how unrealistic you'd just wake up outside of the hospital less $100 and with your weapons stripped
Oh my god, that looked like genuine pants-shitting fear. This is the future of (good) horror game letsplayers.
What controllers was he using?
how unrealistic you'd just wake up outside of the hospital less $100 and with your weapons stripped
you don't lose weapons in hospital though do you? I thought that was just police station [editline]28th June 2013[/editline]
What controllers was he using?
Hydra probably.
Here's a rollercoaster sim I've been working on. It's going to be very buggy and I offer no support for it right now but if it works for anyone here with Rift then kewl. I want game like The Hunter to have Oculus Rift and Hydra Razor support. Or the Sniper Elite. Imagine that you have for real close your one eye to look through a scope.
