Wouldn't have time, already jerkin myself. See with the rift it's fine because we can't see each other, makes it not weird
and then they take their rifts off, to find out YOU were the only one to go through with it. worst lan eeverr
They need to make a game that can communicate with a smart thermostat thing. When you wear the Rift and walk into a desert, it makes it a couple of degrees warmer. When you walk into a tundra, it makes it a couple of degrees chillier. You would be able to calibrate it yourself so that it wouldn't be uncomfortable, but you would definitely notice that you were getting a bit chilly or a bit toasty.

Palmer explains why they focus on mobile rather than consoles:
palmer is just the modern day awesome pioneer of technology
So... yeah, Japan. http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.org//2013/07/custom-maid-3d-now-supports-oculus-rift-virtual-reality-eroge-for-reals/
The only surprising thing is that they did it before us.
lolol palmer replied to my reddit post about pewdiepie's oculus rift vid (it's shit don't watch it)
Hopefully this won't lead to hordes of 12 year olds buying devkits instead of waiting for the consumer version.

Don't worry, the dev kit language on our website seems to be doing its job. We are seeing a huge spike in traffic to the site, but our order counter is plodding along at the slow but steady rate it does every day, maybe even a little lower.
good to hear. pew's 10mil subscribers are bombing the shit out of oculusvr.com but the orders are the same
Pewdiepie's target audience likely doesn't have access to credit cards yet.
who the fuck is pewdiepie
who the fuck is pewdiepie
Don't ask, your life is way better without knowing him.
who the fuck is pewdiepie
Some dipshit that thinks screaming and overreacting during a lets play is hilarious. Trust me when I say you will lose braincells from watching his crap.
who the fuck is pewdiepie
rip Beacon's sanity

He has stopped the rape jokes, and doesn't even over-react and scream as much (But it's still there on occasion). I just checked some of his recent videos, and of course he still yells at barrels, and does the "brofist" but that's because of his demographic needing something that stays the same and can carry on to every video he makes. The guy himself seems like a cool dude, and it's mostly to keep the subscribers he has so he can make a living. If you can scream and act like a goof, and make money for it, I say, why not? [editline]26th July 2013[/editline] Speak of the devil... he has a new Oculus Rift video with slender. Contains screaming, and stuff, but I think I would scream if I saw this with the Oculus Rift. Lower volume recommended.
Ladies and gentlemen I would like to direct you towards the Nexus 7 2013's screen
It turns out that the new Nexus 7 is actually very close to sRGB this time around, with overall gamut being just a bit bigger than the sRGB color space. In the GMB Delta-E and saturations Delta-E measures, arguably the two most relevant for color accuracy, the new Nexus 7 is second only to the iPad 4, and better than the iPad Mini in color accuracy, a significant step forwards from its predecessor. The new Nexus 7 also goes very bright, up to 583 nits, with excellent contrast of 1273. This is again not achieved using any dynamic contrast cheating since those functions are thoughtfully disabled. On the display side of things I'm very pleased with how far the Nexus 7 has come, and it's obvious that display quality was a big focus for the 2013 model. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7176/nexus-7-2013-mini-review/2
Nicer and nicer screens are becoming available at cheaper and cheaper price points. This is good news for Mr. Rift in the coming year.
You're more than welcome to STOP posting that fucking pewdiepie shit here
yeah i'm gonna go ahead and agree with lekkimsm
Gonna pay a visit to a buddy in a nearby city who has the Rift, next week. Will bring my Hydra as well. I'll try to take videos etc
yeah i'm gonna go ahead and agree with lekkimsm
You asked, people answered. /shrug But yeah, that's enough of him for a loooong time now.
According to TGS members, Pewdiepie is a pretty nice guy, but he has to make those videos for his fanbase. I think even he hates his fanbase and how he has to act in front of them.
I bet he is actually dead inside.
Here's an article on how the Rift can help special needs kids. http://penny-arcade.com/report/article/oculus-rifts-latest-opportunity-revolutionizing-special-needs-education-wit
“15 minutes of chill out/calm down time, with a non-obtrusive manner to pull kids out such as a flashing light or verbal stimulus saying 'time to finish,’ could have massive benefits and also means that a dedicated room for a chill out/sensory room space may not be needed,” he explained. “What's done to help kids at school could also be supported at home because the device is relatively affordable. A stronger collaboration between students/teachers/parents means improved lifestyle for students.”

“The integration of the Oculus Rift with the correct scent stimuli could be incredibly useful for developing a more desirable behavior from students who have a sensory processing disorder or auditory processing disorder, for modeling or shifting the thought process of these students,” Marunczyn continued.
Anybody see this yet? Its even downloadable: https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2915

Oculus has competition! http://www.vrase.com/ [editline]30th July 2013[/editline] http://www.punchingbeta.com/interview-with-founder-of-vrase-an-exciting-new-virtual-reality-device/

I hope that games on the Rift are compatible with the vrAse and vice-versa.

If I was to wager a guess... It sounds like Oculus was crossed with Sony's Head-mounted display. If you can do things out of the box, then I'm guessing it doesn't have the special display ratio that the Oculus has, but it still has the Motion Tracking features of a VR headset. Judging by the image on the vrase site, it uses lenses to distort the image instead.
Just got the "Your Oculus Order is About to Ship‏" email, anyone in the UK have any experience in how long it usually takes from here?
