Not if you have a rift.
Like this, Where's all this tax bullshit from and 30 dollars for shipping? I can get a courier to pick it up for cheaper.
yeah i'm definitely not ordering one
I could shave $150 off the Rift's price using the facepunch moderator tips coming in at the end of this month but it's still not worth it, going to save it for the consumer version.
You can shave it off my price then, thanks! :~)
Or mine, I'd love a $150 rift.
Oops I accidentally ordered one on purpose all my money any idea when it'll be shipped?
The shipping and tax is redonkulous. I'll come pick it up myself ty
My friend bought a Rift. He's bringing it over in a few hours for me to try it. What should I download?
Oh my god. We were running it on my laptop so the fps was awful. Played this game First Law. Controls didn't really work. The screen door effect was pretty bad. But it just, didn't matter. It was incredible, one of the coolest experiences ever.
Just found out that the university I'm currently going just got both a Oculus Rift and a mocap studio. Next semester's gonna be rad :v:
So what are the best games/apps to demo the rift with?
So what are the best games/apps to demo the rift with?
If you're planning to play around with it instead of doing actual "development work" its definitely GTA 4.
Watching people with vertigo playing Mirror's Edge with the Rift is quite fun. Have they gotten proper 3D in there though? I remember that a few months ago the only thing that looked 3D were further away things, due to the inability to have a different "camera" for each eye, so what you had was the same "origin" point for each eye.
Jesus fuck, my little brother, who is insanely frugal with money just saw that I ordered a rift, and pulled 800$ out of god knows where to order an Omni and this thing. https://www.thedeltasix.com/ He's 13, and this is the first time he's ever spent any of his Birthday or Christmas money, I don't even know how much he has, like if I poke around his belongings for a while, I'm sure I'd find a small horde of cash.
he should've waited a year
I bought Euro Truck Simulator 2 on the steam sale a few days ago just for the oculus rift support. Today I tried it with my G27, the OR and it was ridiculously epic. I forgot to stop my electric heater (it's really cold here) while playing and I totally got immersed on the Polish summer day of the game despite the -5ºC of my home.

i'm bidding on a rift and hydra on ebay, near-mint forgive me :( [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] Hideous, when did you place your order?
So, I preordered Oculus Rift consumer-version. Now we wait. We indeed fucking wait.
you got me to look at ebay's listings there's one for 350 right now 50$ for having it like a month shorter fuck that
So, I preordered Oculus Rift consumer-version. Now we wait. We indeed fucking wait.
Preordered when we don't even know the price yet?
So, I preordered Oculus Rift consumer-version. Now we wait. We indeed fucking wait.
wait what since when can we do that
I reserved one for myself, chose to pay when I go get it. The price is at 999,99€ which will be fixed when it's known. I also ordered it from a local retailer who sells them, not their site or anything. I can also change my mind by simply not going there to get it, they wait 2 weeks I think then it just returns to the shelf as a purchasable product.
there's a 450$ buy-it-now for the hydras+rift still gonna wait [editline]4th December 2013[/editline]
I reserved one for myself, chose to pay when I go get it. People who DID get their PS4s here on the release date preordered it the same way. Which I did not do. And regreted. Oh and by "local retailer" I mean pretty much the only one in Finland, Verkkokauppa.com. Not some shady little business next door or anything. :v:
It seem like a bad idea to me pre-ordering from a retailer when Oculus haven't talked about their release plans with any certainty.
Well I assume you don't pay anything upfront so it can't hurt really. Just be sure to check if Oculus is actually distributing the Rift to those stores around the time it's released.

If there's a way to get it earlier (and possibly cheaper) I will get it that way then.
i'm bidding on a rift and hydra on ebay, near-mint forgive me :( [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] Hideous, when did you place your order?
Wednesday last week.
So a week from ordering to processing, pretty nice.
Just bought a devkit!
