It looks a bit short
Yep, BioWare didn't bother to see if their ship would actually work. I'm going to try the best I can to make it work. I might double the length of the neck, that should help a little bit.
Actually, I found that a tiny mosquito of a ship that maneuvers like mad does far better than a medium-large ship with better weapons as far as fighting pirates is concerned.
What is happening? Every time i shoot a block i get teleported away, i'm on singleplayer btw [editline]5th May 2013[/editline] And then i died randomly. What is going on? [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] Seriously, I am having so many glitches it's unplayable, can someone Please try to help me figure out what's wrong?
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM YOUR FRIENDLY WOLEY: "server updated"
What's the highest regen rate someone's gotten with 5x5x5?
Math tells me you can put 5 generators into a 5x5 space, so whatever the power output is of 5x5x5 generator * 5 is your max
Ehm folks, I'm starting up a hosting company with my friend. The box will be located in UK in a good datacenter. Anyway the reason I'm posting is, besides the generic source servers I'm going to put there I'll also look into ways of adding Starmade server hosting. I need about 3-4 testers for me, you'll get a free server for me to work the bugs out, and see how it works out. Vagax, you have a reserved slot if you're interested but if you pass it's free for grabs. PM in case of interested, and please if you're going to help me out try to keep the server active, if it means you playing by yourself that's fine too. I'll be using TCAdmin. After we finish the testing of this I'll try to give the best price and best performance to the servers. Note: Swebonny gave me permission for this post. Edit: Oh by the way, this will happen probably next week I'm still working on a few things before launching. This reserve tester thing is just so I can get a small list that will help me.

An interesting observation i've made: If you cover the floor of a lit room with glass bricks, the whole room gets much more light.
An interesting observation i've made: If you cover the floor of a lit room with glass bricks, the whole room gets much more light.
Light works odd in this game, like the way if you entirely enclose a large enough ship the inside is lit without any lights because you're already encompassing the ambient light sources. :v:
ok so I was stripping down a space station with my harvester when suddenly my ship starts flipping out, I exit it, regain control and find this [IMG_thumb]http://i.minus.com/joKaR9oFb1yCb.png[/IMG_thumb] what the fuck just happened
Odd. Maybe the space station was caught between two sectors and got cut off somehow?
my generator generator .cpp file got replaced by a long string of nulls because my video card died and caused a BSOD while visual studio was saving what luck time to make a less shitty version
Is there a way to power a big ship so it doesn't drain the power by moving and fire Anti matter beams. I am guessing there is but all we have tried is like 500+ in a rectangle formating that is around 5-6 high and what I described above happens.
Goddamn it I hate it when this happens.

I think I might be a bit short on power cells for this thing.
thats a pretty bad gen design
From patch notes:
There is now a new module called "power tank", which will indicate the capacity. The existing power module will only define recharge now. I'm doing a very soft switch to a new system, so you don't have to worry about your ship being suddenly powerless. As a first step, there is a base capacity (amount of blocks times 500), so that players can increase their stock of power tanks and put them on their ships, before they really become vital. As a small hint on the future: Small ships won't really need tanks, as their base capacity will be enough. Large ships will need more tanks then recharge blocks, as the increment will represent an S-curve in the future. There will be options to instantly fill up your power tanks though.
Welp
Time to make one huge ass room with power tanks and another one completely filled with regular power blocks!
Time to make one huge ass room with power tanks and another one completely filled with regular power blocks!
make a room out of power blocks and fill them with power tanks
i dont understand why people are rating me disagree, none of those spirals occupies as much space as it could EDIT: actually i guess hes going to expand it upwards, still not very good
wolly needs to update his server yet again. dammit.
thats a pretty bad gen design
It is actually, why are people disagreeing? The most efficient gen design is to integrate it with your hull, while the least efficient is something like that block up there that uses dozens of unnecessary blocks that only increase capacity rather than regen.
When were all of the textures changed? I started the game for the first time in a while and it looks different.
When were all of the textures changed? I started the game for the first time in a while and it looks different.
New update! Separated regen and capacity. Too fucking bad there are ZERO OF THE NEW BLOCKS IN THAT SHOP I'M NEXT TO. FUCK.
Wow, this new texture update made all my ships and space station look like utter shit. Seriously, everything was perfect before, why not at least give us the option to choose between texture packs like Minecraft does? [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] My atrium is now... [t]http://i.imgur.com/rWssT5N.jpg[/t] so gloomy. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] WHY ARE MY GRAY BLOCKS BLUE ???
I made a big ship, it salvages things. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/3fBho1b.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/HZBeZGr.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/xBt9hwq.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wUmPaKz.png[/thumb] It's got zero offence but 12000 shields (Two stacks of 30) and I can go from 0 to 50 in like, one second and maintain it forever. It's pretty awesome, every salvager cannon is a stack of 30 and I'm too lazy to count how many I have cause fuck you, but I can give you a rough estimate of over 10000. I don't know if I should bother closing the back, right now I kinda like it. Also I can mine an entire planet in under a minute.
That looks like it could mine your CPU from inside-out
Why is everyone letting their framerates run wild? Terrifying.
That looks like it could mine your CPU from inside-out
It actually doesn't ruin my FPS too much, I go from around 300 to 250. Not much loss at all.
It is actually, why are people disagreeing? The most efficient gen design is to integrate it with your hull, while the least efficient is something like that block up there that uses dozens of unnecessary blocks that only increase capacity rather than regen.
As far as I understand, the most efficient gen designs is as fitting many single-block longest-X/Y/Z separate generators into one small area. It's pretty simple at 5x5. Gets a bit apeshit at 75x75x250.
