what's this I hear about regen and capacity being separated
Did the textures change again with this beam update? The hardened hulls look different.

How would everyone be with a sorta low rule free pvp server where you start out with a low amount of cash to encourage joining a side of a conflict? By 'side of a conflict' I mean a faction of course.

Anyone know how the game stores it's ship saves yet? From glancing at them, it seems it breaks larger ships into "chunks" and has individual files for each chunk, or something along that line. Small ships seem to just save to one file. It would be great to figure out how to design a ship in a 3rd party program and import it into the game, or otherwise edit your pre-existing ship saves. Only problem right now is I never played freelancer, just saw videos and such of it, so half of the textures in the pack are my assumption of its usage.
Is wolly ever going to update his server? Also, this is what im thinking as the settings and general ruleset for this theoretical pvp server (if my friend ever gets off his ass): 1. All players start with a very low amount of money, somewhere in the 2000$ range in order to encourage teaming up and being careful with your money. (Its possible faction creators will be given a large sum of money to build their starbase, but I'd much rather they worked for it.) 2. PvP is completely free except for in spawn and possible neutral stations, though this would likely be hard to enforce and would cause loads of drama, probably just going to make spawn the only PvP safe zone. Faction stations will not be allowed in the spawn zone unless they are there only for recruitment or something, I don't want factions abusing safe zones so they can't be attacked. 3. Ship catalog to be wiped daily to keep faction designs someone decided to upload faction specific, and to prevent people from just uploading a mass producable rape ship that everyone can just use without consquence, build your own ships! This also means that pirates will have nothing to draw on for ship designs, im not sure how this works but how i'd like it is for pirates to not spawn at all, removing the easiest source of money making, requiring you to go down the harder and dirtier path to riches. 4. Everything goes, if noone from your faction was on and your station was trashed, its on you for making it easy enough to find in the massive expanses of space. Bombed from outside your visible render distance? Invest in shields next time! 5. A more quality of life rule than anything, and you don't absolutely need to follow it, but if you're doing large ship battles (should there be any) try to contain it in the center of a sector and out of planets, as to prevent teleporting everywhere and making both the fight and the server a mess. Any suggestions/thoughts/comments?

Sure, there are kinks to work out and balances to be made, but this is a really early alpha we're playing. Stuff like shields and power are still getting worked out and cloaking was only JUST made functional. Give it time, people.

I really hope the amount of power brought out by blocks is played around with. I mean, I love to see all of the crazy generators people are building, those should give TONS of power, however, getting a basic shield system set up for a regular player to even have a HOPE of defending themselves should not require some demented contraption to function.
About the PVP server, it was kind of the goal of mine. Its point wasn't to PVP in specific, but that when your ship gets destroyed its your fault for leaving it there. (like the 2b2t server for Minecraft) In other news, in a bit the server list will update to have versions. My probe joins all the servers on the list for a fraction of a second to grab the version number every 15 minutes. StarLister now lists server version as well. I am going to make it turn the table entry yellow when a server is outdated.
Grey is now blue, and white is completely solidly white :/ Nice base texture, but the colour needs sorting out.
I don't like the new light textures. I had a bunch of beacons on my engine to make it look like a large light, but now the lights have the black borders so it's looks odd.

I play singleplayer. I don't think that any servers let you use cheats, since that's the only way I can make any giant ships of my own.

The hull is finished, and the ship somewhat combat-ready! What are the codes to spawn hull blocks and wedges?
