Well after fighting 8 or so pirates on the server I finally found one with around a Trillion's in loot.

Spawned my ship, time for some exploration!
Stupid fucking symmetry planes refusing to work, they stop mirroring blocks at some stage. How am I supposed to deal with this?
Hm, I can't seem to fire my salvage & antimatter cannons when I'm in the core, both parts are linked to the core though, so I assume it should work.
Cannons are linked to their respective CPUs and the CPUs to the core.

this hasn't happened to me a single time
Check again, just in case.

I have this issue when I purchase my dildo ship and I have to replace the CPUs every time it sucks
I have a lot of blueprints with that problem on Wolly's server. That's also why a lot of pirate ships aren't shooting; I added those before I realized that blueprint has that issue.|
Actually if you guys give me a list of broken pirate blueprints I'll take them out of rotation.
So how do shields work? How do you get high recharge rates?
So how do shields work? How do you get high recharge rates?
I think the more the merrier. But I can't really figure it out either. I have like 50 units and my shield still go down quickly and recharge slowly.
I feel like this game needs tiered generators.
shit useless page king

I've widened it to make it easier to dock ships inside, and squished it a bit lengthwise to make it more controlable
So far it's used like 24000 blocks. :v:
Stupid fucking symmetry planes refusing to work, they stop mirroring blocks at some stage. How am I supposed to deal with this?
This is because the symmetry planes only extend along the axis you are building along if you are making a large ship.
Before you build your ship measure out a huge cross in those dimensions so it expands the symmetry planes and doesn't cut anything off.
No wonder my ships have all been balls... just figured out the power generation mechanics. Had huge generator blocks but wasn't building up any power. I didn't know that volume mattered more.

Do explain, does shape matter or something?
Do explain, does shape matter or something?
Basically a 5x5x5 hollow cube has the same power regen as that same cube if it were filled. The only difference is the filled cube can store more power.
Each power generator block adds to the ship's battery, but it's the total volume that affects regeneration. You don't even need a sealed generator design, building the power along the axis lines (x,y,z) is enough to count for "volume".
I will post some screenshots to show you what I mean.
Do explain, does shape matter or something?
Energy per second is determined by bounding box size, and is generally more important than storage. A solid block is a waste, what you want to do is fit multiple separate strands, so to speak, in the same area. If you can get 2 separate generators with the same bounding box dimensions in the same space, that's double the power right away.

Done.
[del]How do I take screenshots? Printscreen is borked and I can't find where F5/F6 store the shots.[/del] Found it nm
Does anyone know why the station my and my friends are chilling at just randomly explodes sometimes?
Here's a tip for if you remove your CPU on accident. If you press C to select the CPU, you can hit Shift+V on an Anti-Matter Cannon/Salvage Cannon/Missile Block and it'll select all the blocks of that type connected.
That feature was added like an update back. Very useful.

A 5x5x5 solid cube. Load indicates max storage (187000 in this case) and recharge rate is how much energy recharges each second (4189)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WghvxEb.jpg[/t]
This generator has a 5x5x5 box as well. Load is only 19500 but the regen is the same (4189) and it takes up a LOT less space.

Two 5x5x5 generators in the same box. Load is doubled and so is regen over the last generator, but this is far more efficient than the first one. See how this gets interesting?
There needs to be a much better way I dealing with power implemented.
The current system is ridiculous.
I like the way generators are set up for regen. It encourages creative reactor designs. I think someone figured out a way to put 5 generators in a 5x5x5 area earlier.

Also OP you can edit galena.rtag.me to starmade.rtag.me, I think it's more descriptive and easier to remember :v:
Hey Perl, if it's for Linux server woudl you share source?

After you build this you can then extend single lines up/down from it (the corners and the middle) and it will expand into a 5x5xX generator easily. It's hilariously broken.
Well, I am running Debian but I don't see why it makes a difference. PHP is PHP.
$online = @fsockopen($ip, $port, $errno, $errstr, $timeout);

Your server is a version or so old (your server is running V0.092761, as opposed to 0.092763)
