A new update was just released four minutes ago. patch notes the last update caused a bit of panic. Here is the next step: - Power Updates -- decreased cost for thrusters (minus ~33%) -- decreased cost for weapons ** *(minus ~80%) -- decreased cost for shields ** *(minus ~50%) -- decreased cost for cloaking ** *(minus ~70%) -- decreased cost for jamming ** *(minus ~70%) -- constant increase of recharge increased from 10 to 25 per power recharge block -- fixed base power capacity increased from 5000 to 20000 -- capacity per any block calculation eliminated (now solely relys on power tanks)

I don't see why people are complaining really, It's a free alpha and he's tweaking it.
after the latest patch it was a big buff for my ship. i now can run the weapons almost indefinitely. i like the fact that you need to mount power tanks now.
Tip for large ship builders: Pick your desired power regeneration. Calculate the dimension of the cube required to give this regeneration. Construct this cube. Build a ship around it. On a large scale, intricate designs are dead.
These last two update have made me decide to quit Starmade. They have fucked all of my ships. These updates weren't even needed! There was nothing wrong with the power it could have stayed the same. So long, Starmade call me when you get better.
As an aside from all the people bitching about power generation, could someone come to Perl's server and help me make my turrets work?

So I'm going to assume for that Death Star gamemode, players would be fighting to destroy the other's core across two sectors, with a limited amount of money for a ship?

I find it baffling that there are so many people with no idea of what an open alpha/beta is. It's not the final product, it's meant for testing this kind of shit out before it's official.

Do power tanks have dimension building and grouping like power modules? If not, they have a ridiculously low storage rate, making them useless.

Are cloaks still impossible to actually make use of?
Is there a way to turn a lot of lights on/off at once? I want to have a red alert function on my ship but don't want to turn on/off all my red/white lights one at a time when in/out of combat
I wish there was more of a balance between heavy ships and light ships. While heavy ships turn at a slower rate, in a fight with a player all you need to do is just keep moving back as you turn. Since the speed rate caps at 50m/s, so long as you maintain a distance, you can just turn and blast the little bugger and they'll be unable to dodge it.

Just got done with one of my smaller projects, what do you guys think of the design? I'm thinking of making a much larger version, with even more disproportionate 'arms'.
