Meh It basically happens regardless when you don't put limits in place in the game mechanics. Im curious how the dev will probably place these limits though and how he will do it.
I hope there will be more progression in the game, I mean atm you can pretty much build the ultimate ship after just a couple of hours of salvaging and such. Rare materials, expensive high tier stuff etc.
Meh the "goal" atm is efficiency, efficiency, efficiency basically.
I've gots me some questions. •Do you have to be 1m away from the core to enter your ship? There must be a way to enter it just by looking at the ship? •Is there a 50km/h speed limit or something? •Why don't doors auto-close?

Does anybody have an active server or anything? I have a friend who I play with but he's not always on so yeah
Any "easy" way to build something large and good looking? How are you guys building your ships?
Any "easy" way to build something large and good looking? How are you guys building your ships?
first, I sketch out everything on graph paper. Then, I import it to a CAD program to see how it wil look in 3D and plan out my reactor and weapons systems, then I export the raw data. From that, I construct that in game using symmetry modes if possible. .....not really I just make it up as I go along and be like "hey that looks good man sweet" (symmetry mode helps though)
.....not really I just make it up as I go along and be like "hey that looks good man sweet" (symmetry mode helps though)
So creativity and symmetry modes are my only tools? Goodbye, big and good looking ships! :v:
I'm finding it very hard to build a decent small destroyer class ship that can take some punishment and actually turn at a maneuverable rate, even though I'm using my power as efficiently as possible.
I'm finding it very hard to build a decent small destroyer class ship that can take some punishment and actually turn at a maneuverable rate, even though I'm using my power as efficiently as possible.
Usually putting your core near the middle of the ship fixes this. speaking of cores, I really would love to take cores and place them in different areas instead of stripping everything down or making new ships.
You know what i'd like to see. A game like starmade, but set in a naval environment, as in you had to build ships that floated, starting with wooden vessels and slowly making your way up to iron battleships. It would be like this game; trading, pirates and faction bases (Islands) but it would be set at sea. Idk but i'd like a game like this.

Only problem I can imagine is that the world would be really limited (only capable of going side to side, not any direction like in space). And if we're going to have infinite worlds, then yeah.

Deep-sea expeditions for treasure/salvage would be a cool mechanic, not to mention the potential stealth attacks.

Might throw a wrench in the works when you have to model water leaking into a hull breach though.
The more power blocks I place on my ship, the more my power is draining. Anyone know why? :(
The more power blocks I place on my ship, the more my power is draining. Anyone know why? :(
Are you bridging groups of generators by accident?
So if you make a dock above a certain size, it says it's blocked. Seems like a bug to me.
Are you bridging groups of generators by accident?
Oh, should they be seperate? I thought they generated more in groups
I'm finding it very hard to build a decent small destroyer class ship that can take some punishment and actually turn at a maneuverable rate, even though I'm using my power as efficiently as possible.
What are you classing as destroyer, how big is it, and what kind of punishment isn't it taking? Also, what's it's power output?
Usually putting your core near the middle of the ship fixes this. speaking of cores, I really would love to take cores and place them in different areas instead of stripping everything down or making new ships.
Damn, my core is right up front in the cockpit. Guess I'll just have to build a new ship ;_;
so I'm working on starmade music (early test following to what the creator suggested) the music tracks are are fully dynamic depending on the number and size of ships in a given sector.
Well if you have an IOS device there exists a game called battleship craft. The name is self explanatory except it is possible to make submarines (god knows how) and you can get aircraft carriers that can send out bombers and studf
I've just started and I'm wondering if you can add some sort of block that will allow you to view the front of the ship without the core being at the front? Is there? If so what?

Wooly needs to reboot his server, lag is spiking.

Throw this into it! [sp]it's a joke[/sp]
A new project that I have been working on. Guess whose auto-updater works that's right, Cosmify's :v: My server's suddenly full of people and probably because most people didn't update that fast.
