Don't remove Moonlight Sonata as the start up please that is like the eeriest thing to load into
Don't worry about that, I have inserted the good ol' Moonlight Sonata "copied from BrainBread's startupmusic01.mp3" into BBS. But I will later on insert it into the installer and make so you can either use our startup music or Sonata (Sonata will always be Default selected).
so what version of Source is this, just out of curiosity? 2007?
so what version of Source is this, just out of curiosity? 2007?
We are now using Source Engine 2013
New explosive model [img_thumb]http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/8/7492/C4WIP.jpg[/img_thumb]
How are you progressing coding wise?
Holy fuck, yes. This is one of the greatest ideas ever.
Holy fuck, yes. This is one of the greatest ideas ever.
We already have most of the classic game mode done if I recall.
I put my application up on the forums should you guys need a prop modeller :)
How are you progressing coding wise?
I would say that Classic Mode is done, but is gonna get a re-write soon (just some new entities and crap like that) else its pretty much done. But our programer is working on the Skill System at the moment, so that will take a little while, but I was told it might be done end of this week, or next. Anyway v1.3 Closed Alpha Build will arrive this Christmas (we hope), so that's something to look forward to.
I put my application up on the forums should you guys need a prop modeller :)
I would be happy if you could PM your Steam (or trough our forums). Since you wrote your username and/or alias on the SteamID Profile: on our forums. :P
Are you going to be remaking some of the old maps?
Are you going to be remaking some of the old maps?
Yeah, we are going to remake some of the old maps. Same goes to the Sci-Fi maps, but those will prob be made in a much later date.
best for last, sci-fi
Best now lol.
Here is something I forgot to post here :v: BrainBread: Source is getting a Closed Alpha Release. 2013, 24 of December. But as you know, we try to to get to this goal, but can also get delayed for a few days, but anyway, the Closed Alpha is soon here with a working Skill System and just working gamemode (so far), Classic. Since its in Alpha the max objectives is currently 3, but will however be more later on. And the weapons are currently limited due we still are working on them (sorry :p). But when you got your Closed Alpha key + mod, we have our own launcher that will auto update the mod for you when you launch it (or press "Search for Updates"), It will also bring you news right on it, but that's only Update Releases only. How many can grab an Alpha/Beta key? Right now its set to 500 keys, but might be more when we update the mod. What is the current version of the Mod? Its currently on v1.3 Alpha Build, so expect crashes and minimal of weaponry. Does it work on Linux and Mac? No, Currently its Windows only, same for server wise. But we will make it working for Linux when we get a patch and/or a new update for BBS. How do i obtain a key? You need to Register at our forums, be active (we will select people who have been most active) and then wait for your key. The reason why is because we need people who can report bugs, glitches and/or crashes. This will really help the development. How many maps will be in the alpha? The following maps are: * bbc_factory -- (A VERY old BBS map from 2007) * bbc_carnage * bbc_example -- Non compiled. Its only in the mapssrc (for mappers who want to see how the entities work for Classic) oh yeah, if you want information when crap happens or news, join this group of faggots (aka, BrainBread/BrainBread: Source official Steam group)
If I was active enough with bug reports I'd totally try and get that key. I'll just hound this to see how classic classic mode really is. Classically.
The only forum I spend time on is this one. It's the most entertaining and has the most to talk about, so, it's the only one I'm ever on. If being active on the forum wasn't a requirement, I'd go for it.
The only forum I spend time on is this one. It's the most entertaining and has the most to talk about, so, it's the only one I'm ever on. If being active on the forum wasn't a requirement, I'd go for it.
Yeah, I'm sorry for that. Its just that we really need huge feedback, bugs and/or glitches to be found, we can't find everything alone. But the point is that we need the feedback to check if we are doing the Classic mode Classy, so it feels like good ol' BrainBread. But we will make another announce on ModDB, and on our official steam group later on, and change some of the requirements needed. (some horizontal line here) But as you know, after 7 years, BBS is finally in Closed Alpha stage, so there might be crappy at some parts, but we will try to fix these areas before the release, but the maps will be a bit empty and using some boring HL2 content, since we are still working on our props. I just don't want any wrong ideas that this is a mostly completed stage or something (I know there is people who doesn't read something called 'news posts' :v:), but here is a short brief: BBS started in development in 2007 with Source Engine 2006, died later in 2008. Got continued in 2011, and failed a few months later due bad project leader, and it was using Source Engine 2007. Now, our current team, resurrected BBS in 2012 (me as Project Lead) with Source Engine 2007, but scrapped EVERYTHING when Source Engine 2013 came out. So we basically did a restart, on everything. We scrapped 90% of the old content, only kept the stuff that was good. And after 2 years of our current team, we have finally made into Alpha Stage, and we are very happy that we are here. And this time, we won't fail. The reason why is because we are reaching out to the community, and the fans, we need support, all of it, to make a good quality mod. At the moment, we have some good quality content rolling in, and in time we will ditch all HL2 textures and models on the maps we use (they will still be available for mappers to use). Now everyone knows what we have gone trough, it wasn't a nice ride, but finally we sorted everything. It has been a crazy ride I tell you. Anyway, being active won't probably be a requirement when i make the form. I will just take the lucky ones and give them a key trough forum PM and email (BBS Official Forum), easier for me to give out keys easily. I'm also making so that you can activate the key from your account on the forums if you get it, but I'm still doing the Web Coding on that part (I hate PHP sometimes).
If being active on the forum wasn't a requirement, I'd go for it.
It isn't as strict as you might think. Wow, has Brainbread come a long way. Im just really happy to see a Closed Beta.
On another note, we will show you our Beretta In-Game soon, and by soon i mean probably tomorrow, this Sunday or on Monday. Can't make any promises tho :v:
looks like NMRIH has a competitor. anyways, this mod is looking fantastic.
I hope there won't be ugly HUD like in Contagion or NMRIH. (It looked like they made design in MS Word using Times New Roman font)
Off Topic:
I hope there won't be ugly HUD like in Contagion or NMRIH. (It looked like they made design in MS Word using Times New Roman font)
I actually liked the Contagion HUD, but that's me. And I have to say, I never liked NMRiH's HUD. Looked like smashed potato with Yogurt in someone's anus :v: That's why I go with "Show no HUD" option, but I rather call it "More Bugs in Hell". They do great job on NMRiH, but all the bugs, holy cracker. They still have the bugs from the first release :v: (I don't really wanna make a 1000 word essay describing the bugs of NMRiH)
looks like NMRIH has a competitor. anyways, this mod is looking fantastic.
Well, we don't really see NMRiH as our competitor, we only see it as buggy as hell :v: But their level design is damn amazing I gotta say. All in all, i just hope they will fix the bugs they got, and make "Survival" real survival ._. On Topic: I'm making Slaywatch (some BB fans would know this map) and i'm using these references so you know how it should look like. But sadly, it won't appear on the closed alpha, since it will take months until the models and textures for it gets done, since we ain't a big team. I worked on NMRIH as a level designer, and so if you ever need some help with something give me a shout.
I've never played the original of this, and the description in the OP doesn't come across very clear. Can anyone actually explain this mod to me? I'm not quite understanding the whole "Kill 75 zombies then kill Fred" thing. So you drop into a map, kill a bunch of zombies then grab some kind of briefcase and kill... Fred. What or who is Fred? A special zombie? A human character? Special abilities? I don't get it sorry.
does this mod have that sick gore system of the original
Yes it will Juniez, btw if you ever feel like texture work our weapon models would love your brand of paint.

A special zombie? A human character? Special abilities? I don't get it sorry.
That is the Classic Mode. Classic mode is just like the first one, Arcade-fun-zombie shooter kind of type. You choose your gun at start, but some guns need a specific level and/or weapon skill to use it. More about this will be written when our skill system is done (its almost is, its around 90% done). Anyway, on Classic you can set 3 types of objectives, or fourth if you go advanced mode. Type 1: Kill X Amount of Zombies. Type 2: Find the briefcase and bring it back. Type 3: Kill the mutated zombie Fred. Type 4: (advanced mode only since its not that easy to do now :v:) Rescued by a helicopter or just make a trigger_escape (If "End Game" have been set to "No". Anyway, these objectives will not exist in Survival mode, objective, PvP (Yea, we will make a PvP mode since it was fun shooting each other :v:), Co-Op* and SinglePlayer* *Will only be made when Multiplayer is done. And Co-Op mode will be a continue story of SP, so when that comes out, we suggest you play SP before Co-Op :v:
Just a note we are always looking for new talent. If you have the spare time to help us complete this mod, please apply on our forums. All positions are open for more talent.
Yes it will Juniez, btw if you ever feel like texture work our weapon models would love your brand of paint.
Can I play it tho
