It will only download custom characters and maps if they are located in addons/custom_characters and addons/custom_maps.

We are in dire need of modelers and animators (currently have only 4). We are very close to a closed alpha release, but our maps are lacking much needed models. Also just some info, we have most of the classic gamemode coding side done (so it is actually playable).

That is the ugliest launcher I've ever seen, but I'm glad the basics like the point system are coming together. I don't know if you mentioned it, but how many keys are there going to be used for the point system?

I feel from this point on that the majority of your resources should go into replicating the zombie damage system from the original. To me, that is the most important part of replicating BrainBread.

The launcher is not pretty, we already know that. We have to put stuff together if we don't have the people we need (we need a graphical artist to make the launcher more pretty). and the dmg of the zombies and such will be worked together as well. Everything will be redone and replaced when we actually get the people we need, we can't live on temp models and placeholders.
We are only 'bout 4-5 people active on the mod now so.. :v: When we actually get the people we really need, everything will look much better.

Didn't the original just infect you once your health hit zero?
You should reconsider your idea of "infection" and resistance or you're messing up the entire point of the skillpoint system and turning it into a bullshit spin the wheel no more room in hell.
Sorry but you should spend a lot more time into this project before releasing 20 minute long showcase let alone beta. As it is right now this looks like a bunch of reskinned combine soldiers, zombies and a custom HUD.
It's a proof of concept, hopefully to show people what they want to do and get people interested in playing it/contributing to it. You have a point about the alpha, though.

The animations, as told in the video, are temp, as we need an animator to do it. Luckily our weapon animator stepped up to try to make some character animations for us, and I'm learning how to make IK bones on 3DS Max. And for the infection, its a simple idea, if nobody like that, we can easily set it back to infection at zero (1hp). And we are still working on the point system, we are making it wider than classic BB. And about the Infection resistance, it will only effect if your health is at 25hp or down, not more. And if you die from the NPC zombies, you turn zombie. But we are still working on this, so everything is not yet done. And this won't be spin the wheel More Bugs In Hell. We still need to include the Infection Bar.
But all in all, everything is subject to change, since everything is still being worked on, and also re-worked.
I loved brain bread and if you do this right I will donate.

Yo guys, here is some big news story for you.
Lately we have been working hard and we also have changed a lot of stuff regarding BrainBread: Source, and also changed the name from BBS (BrainBread: Source) to BB2 (BrainBread 2), I don't know If I have already told you guys this, but If I have, here it comes again :)
We have changing the direction of the mod, and going away from the 'remake' part, completely. So we changed the mods name to BrainBread 2, so now BB2 will contain Classic mode (which is almost done, our programmer already re-did the code for it 5 times now if i counted correctly) and some new gamemodes which will be more into realistic part of the game. We also had some problems within the team, but we finally sorted everything out, and we are finally back to give some more news and media. I have also released some new media on our Facebook page and the forums (trying to keep em synced), but I'm still working on the big headline for the ModDB news. More information about this will be posted as soon as it goes up next week or 2.
And we also changed the Main Menu, so its now using our own content, but its still using some temp images until our new ones are fully done.

I have also been working on to bring back some maps I made for BrainBread: Source back in 2012, and pimping them up. They got scrapped due to 1 reason, 2007 couldn't handle the details and lagged to shit. Now we are using 2013, and they produce no lag or any other further issues.

Also, regarding the 'Infection' for BrainBread 2, we made so that you need to have 25hp or less to get infected by zombies or player zombies (its a 70-85% chance), and if you get killed by any zombie, you will turn into the zombie team. And killing friendly NPC's (Police, Military) or human players, you can turn into a human again (3 kills, like the old BB). We also have changed the scoreboard, but the design is not final, its just temporary until we get the new one fully complete.

We wanted to make it harder for the humans to trust who is alive, and who is undead. Its a very basic idea, and it works pretty well.
