It doesn't take into account that Alcubierre engines don't actually move objects, though. The object remains stationary relative to the space around it. It's the space that moves. As such, you stop instantly as you come out of warp, because you never moved. Makes them fairly useless for weapons, unless you're warping stuff into other stuff. Your bubble of space would phase harmlessly into a planet, and then collapse around it. And that's where the fun starts. Atoms don't like to occupy the same space, so they would rip themselves apart. You're initiating fission using the material you warp into. And that releases a ton of energy. You don't even have to worry about kinetic slugs or explosives this way. You can launch marbles and crack a planet. It's really efficient, if you can somehow mitigate the costs of destroying an Alcubierre drive and wasting a star's worth of energy.
Now we have the no inertia mode, I think the devs should come up with a flight system like evochron mercury with similar camera mode like warthunder for large ships. Building is fine, but flying is just clumsy.

I try and build my ships knowing they'll go into combat, trying to protect everything that's vital it ends up somewhat barebones I guess.
How do gravity gens add to damage done in a collision? Is it a bug, or is it accelerating gibs further into the ship?

Not enough guns on it.

ughh man i finally got it but it doesnt run well enough for me to not go crazy. itll work for about two or three minutes smoothly but then ill get these waves of awful lag and i just cant stand to play it like that

Thats common in a lot of games.
NO, ITS SPREAD FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD
After an unfortunate incident that resulted in the loss of 12 cargo crates and the control tower, I designed this. A cargobox framework called the 'bumblebee', has an independent damper system that stops it from floating around in space when you accidentally bump into it. To carry the frame from the landing pad to the refinery bay, I made the 'dragon fly'. I'm not entirely convinced in buying this game, I wanna see what they add more to it.
i like your blocky designs, they remind me of old lego
It's funny you say that because I used to play a ton of a game called Blockland which was essentially a lego/block building game (one of my builds is even featured on the frontpage!). I've actually seen quite a few parallels between my Blockland building design and my SE building design :v:
Anyone have any idea why the background of one of my saves has turned fully grey, the view distance has shortened a lot, and the FPS has dropped to 4 after an alt-tab? Spent a long time after finally getting this game to work building a big ship and Im going to be pissed if I lose it

Gotta get round to redline it one day.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/96ZCW41.jpg[/thumb] Need a cockpit for large blocks, ended up using small blocks cause of the cockpit.
Im building something [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901013884105856156/8E6276ADEBEFF86B1E97539A8BC4DBCA5090D639/[/t] its horrendously ugly. Worst feeling to get after building a frame this big D:
Chamfer the sides, that'll help a bit.
Chamfer the sides, that'll help a bit.
This, I can imagine it'd look pretty badass.
Im building something pic its horrendously ugly. Worst feeling to get after building a frame this big D:
It doesn't look ugly, it just needs more detail. See above posts.
Im building something its horrendously ugly. Worst feeling to get after building a frame this big D:
Throw some ramps on those edges, it'll make a difference. I like it, it'll look much better with external thrusters too. The cool thing about a huge ship is that you have a massive canvas to do whatever you want with it.
The problem with absolutely massive ships in their design is the lack of varied block models to add some serious textural differences and the lack of variable slopes. I've tried using ramps to make the ships sides look more elongated but it doesn't work very well. Some more options in terms of corners, rounding and sharp sides and inclines of more varieties would really, really buffer large ship building.
halp something happened to my ship [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/blbdgt5.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lblQLL1.jpg[/thumb] I did this so i can plan a conveyor system better and make any modifications and improvements since its difficult to get your bearings running around inside.
Are you making a sidescroller? You clever dog you.
