So, the amount of debris generated by mining has been clamped down so hard it might as well not be there at all. I know it was done because a couple of minutes mining leaves you running at 5fps, but surely they could have just stuck a limit of 500 or so on them instead of making them vanish as soon as they touch anything (a maximum debris slider in options, anyone?). You'll see why my jimmies are so rustled when I upload the video I was in the middle of making. [editline]10th December 2013[/editline] Drills. Weee!
how do you make it so stable without locking it in place for every inch you move?
how do you make it so stable without locking it in place for every inch you move?
Just don't collide with the rock. Also helps if you drill along one of the world axises, that way the shape of the hole remains completely smooth and colliding with it doesn't mess with your heading too much.
that funnel thing is just too bloody genius for me to handle
Space Engineers having a booth on PAX or Gamescom would be pretty neat. (We discussed it for a while a moment ago :v:)
so I just got an idea, if you have all these resources would you be able to build bullets out of most of them? Bullets needing to be put into guns with different materials would be awesome. Uranium bullets would be common until people realize their reactors need uranium.
Squeegy, that was literally the coolest thing I've yet to see come out of this game. Nice job!
So i was really curious as to if anyone has experimented with this. As we all know, weapons haven't been added to the game yet, but i saw a video on Youtube where this guy was testing out a bolt action gravity gun. To get straight to the point. He had these makeshift "canisters" with asteroid "bullets" inside and the product was VERY volatile. the first test annihilated an armored wall, and in the second test the canister hit one side of the gun by accident and destroyed the gun in an explosion that made me cream my pants to be blunt about it :quagmire: I know it seems like a minor discovery but i really like it because it shows that with a bit of imagination and ingenuity you can create some awesome weapons in this. Pardon my english
anyone else having performance issues? after the latest update my game runs sloppy
I hope they make the mined rocks bigger. You could have less rocks at once that way while having it look like you're mining much more. Right now it feels like you're getting jack shit, and it'd be great if you needed some kind of cargo bay to contain them. That said; I hope they add some rock/ore magnets for small ships to suck closeby rocks to them. I tried using landing legs for an ore collector, but you both need a gravity source for it and the rocks fall inbetween the legs.
Bought this game yesterday due to your video Squeegy Mackoy, so thanks! This looks to me, like the thing that Spacebuild (for GMOD) wanted to be, but couldn't. So I see a lot of potential in this, especially eventually when the multiplayer will be added. I just hope they add something similar to wire/redstone or so.

I should really try to build a giant orbital cannon.
Drills. Weee!
Well, never beating that. I quit. GG.
Guess what it will be, get kudos.
Looks like the ORE Industrial Capital ship from Eve.
Rorqual. I was thinking about making one too but decided not to.
Well, never beating that. I quit. GG.
gotta admit that I lost motivation to play entirely after seeing that :v: can't bring myself to make anything anymore because I know that something much more awesome is out there. time to wait until survival and multiplayer I guess!
Thanks Squeegy you killed Space Engineers.
He does this to everything.
i dont get how you can see something that clearly demonstrates how cool this game actually is and somehow don't want to play it anymore I mean last night I fired the game up again because of that vid. Not because I wanted to do anything remotely like it or do some cool construct, it just reminded me that its a neat game.

They sit on 4 motors, got to make the huge ass door on a motor, the whole things transforms when it enters industrial core mode.
probably because some of us know that we will never be able to make something as epic as that
there is one person better than you for everything you've done, and will ever do in your life its not as depressing as it sounds, just celebrate that fact yo
probably because some of us know that we will never be able to make something as epic as that
But why make it a competition? You don't need to win "most epic creation" just have fun.
So I'm finally getting around to watching the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series (I can explain). Specifically the episode where [sp]the Cylon rebirth ship gets annihilated.[/sp] You have no idea how badly I want explosives in Space Engineers now.
But why make it a competition? You don't need to win "most epic creation" just have fun.
wasn't really thinking of it that way, more in the way "god damn I'm jelly, wish I had your creativity so I could make things to be proud of as well" :v:
Why is FP so blurry for me?
Why is FP so blurry for me?
you have eye cancer sorry
Look in general discussion. Garry is obviously dicking around with filters or something.
