Think of it, if we had multiplayer right now there would be ship to ship battles, and they haven't even released guns yet.
you mean Squeegy vs everyone else curbstomp battles
If I were to make a ship for multiplayer I would be using a torpedo bomber that is fast and can be reloaded quickly and easily. As much as the video butters up my ship it really isn't capable of defending itself against anything faster than it (and given the amount of armour it has, that is a lot of things). It takes about 30 seconds between lining up a shot and actually firing the gun (during which the ship must be stationary or it will destroy itself), so had the blue ship performed any amount of evasive maneuvers, every shot would have missed and I would have had to leave and come back next week when the gun has been reloaded. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] I should also add that due to the massive wall of gravity generators in the left wing, any incoming shots that contain gravitatable mass will be thrown back at the attacker. Being shot at from behind however has the opposite effect and will simply tear the whole ship in half.
that video makes me want space battles even more

I wonder how railguns will work in multiplayer. everyone are gonna have like a wall built of gravity generators in their ship to fire projectiles, therefore rendering all weapons kinda useless since they're just gonna bounce back and forth :v:
if missiles are fast enough i dont see grav gens having much of an effect on them tbh
If I were to make a ship for multiplayer
Oh boy, I know you just said you'd be using small ships in multiplayer, but the very prospect of a fuckoff-huge cannon bowling its way into a server makes me feel like all my Ace Combat skills have been leading up to this very game. [editline]dgh[/editline] By the way, I can't bring myself to do anything productive in-game anymore because every time I try, I spawn right next to a giant IKEA carefully balanced atop of an asteroid and I promptly laugh myself to death every time.
Small ship, comedy cannon. All I want in multiplayer.
My most massive of ships never have good turning radiuses. Like not even close to being something I want to deal with. Trying to build cool ships at a small scale feels super hard though, in that frigate class.
True. When I finally finished the exterior of my 1km Hyperion Cruiser, I slapped a bunch of thrusters and tons of gyros inside it. Still took about 2 minutes to pull a 180. And good luck stopping at 180. You had to turn slower than the max turn rate or it would get so much momentum you'd have to wait until the next revolution to try stopping again.
Hello.
NOW i remember you! You made those warmelon videos! You'd have rocks flying at your face, but on the plus side the bullet itself would still hit.

I just got this game and it seems really awesome, but I have a question. Is there a way to tighten up the jetpack controls a little bit? I realise it's realistic for them to be somewhat floaty, but I'm finding it quite a hindrance to building. Is this just something you get used to after a while, or am I missing some special creative mode controls that let me fly around with more speed and precision? I saw some videos that looked like they were less floaty, but I'm not sure if that was an older version of the game or something.
behold, my latest creation a beautifully engineered vessel [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] the resolution is low because i'm on a shitty laptop btw
would it be any more manageable if the entire interior was just thrusters and gyroscopes?
I'm going to try this. One thing I noticed was that gyros are heavy. Add a wall of gyros, more weight to move around. But yeah, a whole interior of gyros and thrusters might do the trick. :)
Hello.
Sent marek a tweet - I hope they highlight it. https://twitter.com/ardune/status/413370054583939072

That way, if you're building a cannon you can choose to have one that exerts a great deal of force, but only in a thin cylinder underneath it.
I really don't think we're going to see different grav gens.
Hello.
How did you get the grav cannon to only launch the shells inline with the barrel?
by being behind the barrel?
motherfucking squeegy mackoy You do this in every game I love it
I would be interested to see how you hold that ammunition in place while you move.
Hello.
Now i'm home. 1) that's fucking ingenious and great editing 2) Could you fit a person inside one? DROP PODS HOOOOOOOO

DROP PODS HOOOOOOOO
I bet you can but I imagine it being a little difficult since loading yourself and the gravitable mass into the shell would be tricky without prematurely firing the round. [editline]18th December 2013[/editline] Also here's some more mobile turret screenshots I didn't post [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/506951248908101984/A6AA1E9B98700D803D65C662F805CF069C3B592C/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/506951248908102823/FEF64887CC1C68D78681FDD942A24976D0845204/[/t] I really like this pic for some reason [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/506951248908104078/0954B547292DDD90FED5AF4FAB1F4ED155DBFD25/[/t]
that's why multiplayer will be useful forget ramming into ships in order to board them, you'll be shooting your own crew into the enemy
that's why multiplayer will be useful forget ramming into ships in order to board them, you'll be shooting your own crew into the enemy
"are you telling me have no ammunition captain?" yeah, something like that would be amazing modular ship combined with that? "uhm, did you just use the crew quarters as a projectile against the enemy ship?" "ummmmm, maybe" anyway, I decided to go back to the boarding vessels again and made something nice. it's small, fast and really maneuverable [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/684843638484301347/6ACB61DF3EB8F7AAD56ACC62843DC62A92F77E84/[/t] designed it with the idea of having the vessel itself reusable. so I made 6 poles to penetrate the hull and kept all vital thing in the back. what you can't see in the picture is that the front is open and hollow, so it can transport people who can board the moment it enters the hull [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/684843638484305249/C0EEF801EE030B7025ED60C1FF4FFA7AF4B8E55C/[/t] the poles took all the damage and did a fair job in getting through the hull. I should think of a way to get landing gears on it so it can actually attach itself
How on earth is that ship reloading itself like that? YOU MUST TELL ME MACKOY
modular ship combined with that? "uhm, did you just use the crew quarters as a projectile against the enemy ship?" "ummmmm, maybe"
CO doing a shitty job in battle? start the mutiny by using his quarters as a torpedo
