Or possibly completely destroy blocks at the heart of the explosion, do this around the edge of it, and damage blocks just outside the explosion effect.
mainly because doing all blocks would be laggy as shit
mainly because doing all blocks would be laggy as shit
We already have generic gib models for the debris part, they need to make them not disappear immediately
We already have generic gib models for the debris part, they need to make them not disappear immediately
They will probably enable them like they did with the drilling/collision debris with asteroids once they introduce the frame working for all the blocks. Hopefully.
gonna need a bunch of tasty debris particles too, explosions always look more impressive when there's scrap flying about
Throwing warheads at ships doesn't cause the victim ship to move out or rotation or get knocked about unlike when you through the large generators or other ships at it. It feels a little underwhelming when that doesn't happen.
Hey, combine a large reactor with 6 warheads on all the ends. A bomb with a fuckhuge blast radius [editline]19th December 2013[/editline] Knocks ships back too
I wish there were rotors that autmatically move from the cockpit or by your self or rotors with full spherical movement. Moving rotors from your cockpit would be great for custom turrets added to large ships and automatic rotors would be great for reducing the amount of engines on you ship. That would be a great addition because I think that the rotors that we have now are only useful for space stations and not for any practical purpose. Editing, there should be presets that you can make (to easier control gates and stuff). You can have different folders you can make (some password protected for secret doors?) that preform the movement that you assign to the preset. Like "Open gate" and "Close gate". This would make hangars even better than they already are.
anyone other than laststandgamers who do space engineers videos and actually speaks clearly?
Waiting for MP, Specture fighters at the ready; even more stored on the third deck up.
I can speak clearly. But pred you broke my heart so I cant do this. </3
I can speak clearly. But pred you broke my heart so I cant do this. </3
i'm sorry, please continue doing it you're probably a great speaker ps can i have your youtube
No
http://www.youtube.com/user/VilusiaLP A little quiet, but sounds good to me.
It'll be cool if the damage of bombs get affected by its velocity, like a torpedo warhead will penetrate the ship a bit before detonating, etc.

I am still holding some hope that they will add different types of armor blocks, so that ships can resist stuff like those warheads.
I'm thinking about throwing together a few quick mechanism tutorial videos based on what I've seen in this thread. Because you guys post brilliant stuff and then leave us trying to figure out how to solve it :D
I have to ask, where does everyone get their inspiration for ship designs? I just got this game, and I can't make anything look pretty; everything looks like a bland block with thrusters.
I built my (only two) ships around their function, doing all the working parts first and then giving it a facade.
Right, so, I have a very noob question to ask. How do I put light inside my craft? I see the default ships floating around with lights on the ceiling, but I see no way to do that in my ships.
Do you have a reactor in your ships?
Let's assume yes I guess, I've been playing around mostly and just noticed that I didn't have any lights in my ship. And by ship I mean long empty hallway.
well just use interior lights, they turn on automatically when placed on a ship with reactors. Reflector lights need to be turned on via a reactor's panel.
So i just tested my railgun/ship... edit: Wow those pictures lined up well. This fired a stone, by the way. Just a stone.
how do railguns even function
how do railguns even function
A fuck-load of gravity generators.
how do railguns even function
you just use gravity generators to propel anything affected by them, i.e. stones. then you can use the stones to propel other things, like capsules full of warheads.
well just use interior lights, they turn on automatically when placed on a ship with reactors. Reflector lights need to be turned on via a reactor's panel.
Er, where are the interior lights exactly...
Er, where are the interior lights exactly...
Press G, hover your mouse over all of the icons until you find the one called interior light.
Press G, hover your mouse over all of the icons until you find the one called interior light.
Wowzers, I'm blind as a goddamn bat. Thank you.
