i wouldn't mind if the actual game had a soundscape like this
Although the breathing noises would give me striking headache after a while. It did by the end of the video for me at least.
I've not noticed this at all, are you sure?
The one thruster in this picture is off because it's been shot/damaged.
No need, already threw it in the developer/staff skype group. :v:
Also locked that damn furry thread, this is the third one i close..
Has anyone extended any offer to the devs to join FP? I'm sure they'd love it here..in this thread.

why

As someone who doesn't mind furries and is friends with several, this idea is exceptionally dumb. (and my friends agree)

Those are just doors placed on top of each other with two side by side at the top.

Oh man, those Half-Life 2/generic physics sounds. Brings back memories of digging through the sound folder looking for the perfect sound.

That just sounded beautiful. You deserve way more views than you are getting Sqeegy.

Fear Not the Deep, my first small ship that I'm proud of. I found the inclusion of small ship weapons a perfect excuse to make a small ship and make it look good.

I guess you've set the ball rolling in a good direction.
Personally I think it needed some slightly clearer more mechanical sounding sounds. Similar to if you've ever used fairly hefty ear protection with certain machinery/tools. The nitty gritty metallic/contacting sounds that just stand out. I suppose that sort of thing would be great for ship collisions too, the sort of scratching sound that sounds like someone's keying the inside of your skull.
But all in all I thought it was a great vidya, and It seems as though you've inspired the devs to head in a great direction, which I think is brilliant. Good Job! :)

play shores of hazeron.
Get used to the sound of breathing.
i started working on something big
here's the landing bay
[t]http://puu.sh/68x0N.jpg[/t]
the red ship almost fits inside
[t]http://puu.sh/68x63.jpg[/t]
why not make it just a few blocks higher so that it truly does fit
I finally actually finished something
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/qloedE.jpg[/t]
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/SKwYMb.jpg[/t]
This ship is meant to be more of a private, personal craft than anything belonging to a corporation or military corporation.
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/n8yJdz.jpg[/t]
[t]http://i.cubeupload.com/bAU162.jpg[/t]
There are two of these small mining ships on each side behind the little area with interior pillars seen towards the back of the ship.

The only part i can't do is the door. I want to be able to open the hangar, but i can't connect the small ship to the large ship, and landing gear wont work because the motors are longer than 1 block apparently.
[editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
If i can't get the door to work, i'm considering just adding a turret that could be used to shoot any ships tailing me.
why not make it just a few blocks higher so that it truly does fit
because i've already started work on the interior and i dont want to redo what ive done

One of the few times I'd have to agree with this statement. While this thread occasionally gets a tad off-topic, it's probably one of the most productive threads on the forums.
There's something about weaponizing everything from missiles to washing machines that truly emphasizes the human mind.

An accurate description, though Excel is notably more responsive than Hazeron's server!
Not sure if it's been fixed in the last year and a half, but I recall minute long freezes every few seconds to be routine.

make them not flat
Bomb the hell out of them.
Fold into a light armor paper airplane

Same way as the Red ship was my favorite, have underlayer as black, attach more armor blocks in one layer only above it in geometric patterns in striking colours.

Do what Star Wars did with the Star Destroyers.

Banks of up/down, side-side-to-side thrusters running along the hull and surmounted in triangular ridges. I'll post my example as soon as I have access to the computer.

Because I wouldn't play with it while in sandbox, but I'd love respirator sounds for once survival is nice and immersive.

The sample I used was only about 30 seconds long so it got recycled 4-5 times. The solution is to just record an hour of breathing.

I love how you separated mechanical things directly connected to the ship and external things that could still transmit vibration to your ears, you can actually tell the explosions are not in the same environment as the LS or even the spinning of the gattling gun motors
[editline]4th January 2014[/editline]
Hey, darth-veger, think you could ask what the dev team thinks about hydraulic piston kind of things, so we can have things that slide in and out linearly without iffy gear things or thusters and hard to set up slider things?

Bit late but holy shit, this must handle like a goddamn brick. The brickship to end all bricks. Also if you fire those rocket pods it WILL explode.
would it even be possible to make the control panel show a diagram of the ship? like, all the blocks connected to it, in a sort of transparent way, from a top down perspective? yknow, so you could click on reactors and other parts for you to turn on and off, and it'd show where they are in the ship, that'd be pretty neat, but could they even do it in this engine?
