- gatling guns can now rotate
Best part of the update, hands down.
Good lord, why does opening the door bring up that control panel? Please just make it so pressing T or K on the panel opens or closes it. (Preferably T so I don't need to take my hand off WASD or the Mouse.) (Or better yet, a single click/right click when we're in hands-mode.)
- Drill can be turned on/off in the control panel
And now we don't even have to use a second ship to use drills on our large ships.
I reckon squeegee (sp?) single handily inspired the drill on and off function.
working doors will probably be included in one of those
Spot on.
So why exactly is the sound disabled for everything except GUI (and menus sounds like 64kbps and it is very annoying)? It's the start of the new sound system implementation or something? [editline]9th January 2014[/editline] And what's so special about the new "easy start 3 (64-bit only)"?
yes they're switching sound engine
Doors are buggy. Sometimes they seem to be open when in fact you cannot pass through them.
And what's so special about the new "easy start 3 (64-bit only)"?
Extra large world.
Doors are pretty buggy, sometimes they won't let you through even though they're set to "open" and also look open [editline]9th January 2014[/editline] Damnit
Missile physics seem to be changed a bit

The bug is this: Doors work fine, right up until you try to place a new block on the ship. Then every door breaks simultaneously and apparently, permanently. [editline]9th January 2014[/editline] Apparently, only sometimes permanently. Occasionally cycling the door helps.
Here's my thinking. Everything that can toggle and has a control panel should be able to toggle with T. Drills, lights, turrets, doors, everything. Let us hit K to go into the menus to use it as a terminal, but T should just toggle it. You get the same complexity, but it doesn't feel so shoehorned or broken.
Made some good use of the color changeable lights:
wow i like that design
wow i like that design
It looks like some Starfleet ship design I saw a while ago
Bought this, really fun game. Is light armor the only type in atm?
Bought this, really fun game. Is light armor the only type in atm?
Yeah, heavy armor is still in the works. [editline]9th January 2014[/editline] Also, i am okay if people drop bugs and stuff in the thread because i can send these directly to the developers. (Like the door bug just then.)
It looks like some Starfleet ship design I saw a while ago
Its the ncc 0514 [img_thumb]http://www.startrekdesktopwallpaper.com/new_wallpaper/Star_Trek_Federation_Star_Ship_USS_Kelvin_NCC_0514_freecomputerdesktopwallpaper_1280.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/blueprints/sexton/Kelvin0514-new_schematic.jpg[/img_thumb]
Color changable lights and ive yet to see a warhead infused space disco ball of impending doom. Someone make it happen!
Its the ncc 0514 [img_thumb]http://www.startrekdesktopwallpaper.com/new_wallpaper/Star_Trek_Federation_Star_Ship_USS_Kelvin_NCC_0514_freecomputerdesktopwallpaper_1280.jpg[/img_thumb]
a bit goofy, but somehow cooler than the classic Enterprise design IMO
If this game doesn't ween itself off the interface GUI soon I seriously fear for its playability and future.
a bit goofy, but somehow cooler than the classic Enterprise design IMO
I loved the USS Vengence in "Into Darkenss"
For the lights, they need to add the ability to change the colour before you spawn the light as well as a tool to easily change the light colour without going into the control panel.
yah, i agree. being able to keybind stuff would be super useful. like, you can keybind an "oh shit" button, where red lights start flashing and all the exterior doors shut. or something along those lines
Did they break the rockets in the latest update? 2 Rockets hit this spot [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/6K9ZELc.jpg[/thumb] Did random impact damage to my ships' flight pod (tiny dent between the arm and the red trim at the front). [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/V9ow77s.jpg[/thumb] Yet ripped up the internal section on the other side of the main impact. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/RJQYxj9.jpg[/thumb] Also, did they buff the hp of thrusters and pillars? They seemed to take a ton of rockets to kill but somehow the impact damage on what I was hitting was not doing damage to the surrounding armor and internal blocks.
I loved the USS Vengence in "Into Darkenss"
do not discuss JJ Trek because then you will turn this thread into JJ vs Gene/Rene/Whoever the hell else writes episodes.
If this game doesn't ween itself off the interface GUI soon I seriously fear for its playability and future.
Hear this, Veger? Can you run this by the devs as well? Because having dedicated buttons to do things is kind of important... I'm sure it's coming... But I think it probably needs to come sooner rather than later if we're going to keep adding features.
The Windows seem to let rockets pass through them (at times) and pillars seem to be invulnerable to rocket fire.
