It seems they made engines and reactors explode with rockets again. Shame, I liked it before this patch.
The Windows seem to let rockets pass through them (at times) and pillars seem to be invulnerable to rocket fire.
don't think they're bugged other than them passing through the windows. the impact the rockets do now seem a lot more balanced with survival and ship battles in mind
Spot on.
i shall predict the next update it will bring us working go-karts space go-karts
Since no one has mentioned it yet. Allow me to break the ice. Has anyone weaponised the working doors, or anything else from the new update? :v:
The doors work? Wait do they need to be powered?
don't think they're bugged other than them passing through the windows. the impact the rockets do now seem a lot more balanced with survival and ship battles in mind
just imagine a space battle one guy thinks he can take on your ship he's getting obliterated and is panicking manages to shoot a rocket at you it goes in through one window and out the other side
Since no one has mentioned it yet. Allow me to break the ice. Also, you can weaponise the new lights by putting them on a really powerful motor and asking an epileptic to look at what you built.
If doors are better at holding gravity slingshot ammo, that's some huge opportunity.
If doors are better at holding gravity slingshot ammo, that's some huge opportunity.
fire grav tubes one through to eight!
just imagine a space battle one guy thinks he can take on your ship he's getting obliterated and is panicking manages to shoot a rocket at you it goes in through one window and out the other side
Que ships made purely of windows.
How do I reduce the vibrations of mining drills on smaller ships?
more thusters
I think windows should have two separate hitboxes. One for building and deleting, another for physical collisions. It's really annoying when I try to delete a window but the cursor goes through those tiny slits and removes a critical part behind it.
I saw we could turn drills on and off now so I began building as idea Ive had for a while: a ship that devours small asteroids whole. The BMS Carnivore [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/469798831143526808/559F8167F302559E03CC2A051CD97FCA0EEF254E/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/469798831143528059/7BB93131879DD1F65D0A26432ACF85B72DEACA85/[/t] The Idea is that I attatch a grill-shaped small ship to the front, hit the drills, swith the gravity from downwards to backwards, then slowly chow down, the debris and ore gets sucked down the slope and through a channel in the bottom of the ship, where it either gets put into storage or blown out the back. Unfortunately I cant get the drill grill to stay in place while moving without snapping the landing gear and exploding. Also, dat engine room :F [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/469798831143944404/DFC19F85BC0587C341B32AC0378F3E5904CCE6A7/[/t] totally stole the spinning lights and windows thing from the thread.
That isn't necessarily the dev's fault (assuming they haven't written their own physics engine). It's a side effect of objects being tiny and having high velocities, because collision checking is done once every physics frame, and they move a distance that is longer than their own length leaving a gap where they can pass through other objects that are thinner than this gap. The solution is to trace between the missile's current position and its future position each frame and take the the first object instersected as the other collider.
have any one of you thought of making escape pods with the new doors
I haven't done anything, haven't posted this screenshot anywhere(besides sending to devs in chat) and somehow this screenshot is getting so much attention: [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/884127922328074801/05300F556B9A1D0C3C1FE61DE66A041D0B43578E/[/t] link. why? Is it because I've got orange nickname in Forums and they check my SE screenshots or is it something else?
I guess it's becuase the guy's leg clips through the GUI?
I guess it's becuase the guy's leg clips through the GUI?
Probably, but how people even find this screenshot?
I guess it's becuase the guy's leg clips through the GUI?
Yeah uh how the hell do you manage to clip through an always-on-top overlay? Are you one with the system? Can you feel the datastreams course through you? [editline]edh[/editline] Wait a minute I didn't even think about how much that avatar fits. Holy shit did I guess right?
https://twitter.com/OndrejPetrzilka/status/421659697372860417
Yaay. Next week?

I can confirm that doors do hold stones when closed, and let them fall when open
got a VPS lying around with no purpose, will be ready for space engineers
Definitely going to be putting up some server power whenever space engineers opens up :v:
I can confirm that doors do hold stones when closed, and let them fall when open

//:object: door ++type: sliding ++function: separation of rooms and interior spaces ++availability: common item used in most architectural solutions ++current status: weaponized? My weaponizing of doors was placing stacks of uranium on horizontal doors then flying over things and opening the doors, heavy bomber style.
