Finished the external structure (interior is a mess as you'll soon see). Now it's just sorting out the interior, then redoing parts that don't quite fit e.g. the bridge, perhaps a tweak of the side engines.

I like the look of this, I love sandboxes and spaceships.
I think the player character needs to be a tiny, tiny bit smaller - maybe a 5% decrease would do it. That way you could fit in hallways 2 small blocks wide.
Anyone know if it is possible to change your astronaut's colour? I'm fed up of being black.

Redid the bridge. Still not quite right looking from the front (in fact, it seems to look worse than the old one from the front), but the back seems rather fine. Added some additional thrusters as well; though it seems gyroscopes are more important for turning, which is madness. Forgot to turn the hud off for one of the pictures.

Has a (barely) walkable interior and crumples like paper when it flies into stuff. Has a lot of miniguns though.

Although the most recent edit of that ship has more front thrusters so it slows it down faster.

Yay! I am in top 3 on the translator statistics! I almost translated a whole language! I will come back tomorrow and maybe do some more translations, but now I'm off to bed.
Also, while translating, I found a tooltip for switching your spacesuit colour. I don't know the keys, but there's 2 keys for switching colour (I'm guessing the defaults are [ and ]), and one that you need to hold down to apply the colour on your suit. I can't be assed to launch the game right now, but unless anyone has found the key tomorrow, I will try to find that last key.
I thought we had to wait till the 23rd to buy the game.
Is it just me or is this game remarkably picturesque?
Never mind. On their website they state that you can buy the game during certain periods before the 23rd. thanks guys :)

First post, you're off to a good start.
It's the Mothership. From Homeworld. It's generally your only ship and you expand it, along with building a couple other specialized ships with it that then do tasks such as refine ore, construct larger ships, so on and so forth. So to answer your question. It's all of those things

Bah fuck it, I hate not being able to sort out symmetry easily.
I was going to build a sleek Star Destroyer-esque ship, then a vertical ship, but then all that flew out the window and this monstrosity got pooped out. :(

The side engine pods are enterable, there's a cargo hold in the front of the ship, and gyroscopes in the back. It's pretty good at ramming the shit out of the red and blue ships, on account of having no brakes.

Turns out flying at 104.7 M/s into an Asteroid has you ending up inside it.
Although I did find out through doing this that 104.7 M/s seems to be the fastest you can go.
Built a mining ship with a similar aesthetic to my carrier a few pages back. Has lots of lights of course.
