Developers give us guns, we make ship mulchers.
Is it a A.) Ki-84 Hayate B.) N1K Shiden Kai C.) Ki-100
Hmmm close but no cigar, it's REALLY obscure. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline]
And if the answer's A6M5 I'm flipping a shit.
no its actually a corsair [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] http://www.eudict.com/?lang=engjap&word=zero,%20nought
ITS A SPITFIRE RITE?
Im p sure its a honda civic
wtf i thought it was a fiat punto
Well you guys were all pretty close, but it's actually a VW Beetle [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] cats out of the bag
Im p sure its a honda civic
there's like a 50% chance of any given vehicle being a honda civic smart tactic
As usual, I think heat production should be optional, or better yet, a mod. Remember, heat production and combat aren't fun. I get the feeling the majority of SE players wouldn't appreciate it. I certainly wouldn't.
Mechwarrior would like to vehemently disagree with you. Nothing is more hilarious than seeing your enemy cook off his own ammo and erupt in a giant fireball.
If we get heat management in SE Ill adress it the same way: hold nothing volatile near the engines and toast those fuckers like a thanksgiving turkey. brb considering jade falcon color scheme for some of my ships.
Mechwarrior style heat management sounds nice.
Alright, since i use facepunch all the damn time i think i should do this here. We are looking for testers who can play early updates (content updates) before anyone else and give feedback. We only have 50 positions open and on a few other forums it is also being asked so there is limited room. If anyone wants to take part in this, i need your: Name Email Skype Steam Send it to me using a PM.
Damn, i'd love to do that but school takes up alot of my time. Good luck to the rest of you, guys.
Applied, woo. I'd be happy to help this game develop.

They've just put a statement out that they won't be doing weekly updates for a couple of weeks..
quick question, are there any possibility for linux builds in the near future? would gladly apply and help test out a linux build
I think the game's mostly written in C#, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Damn shame though.
They've just put a statement out that they won't be doing weekly updates for a couple of weeks..
I knew that all they are gonna do for the next month is fix MP. The bug report forum is full of MP issues, IMO they released it too early.
I knew that all they are gonna do for the next month is fix MP. It is necessary to have a core component like MP being developed along side the other features.
They didn't release anything! This is early access. What you are playing is WIP material.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not against MP, I just think they have a lot of things to do already.
They sorta need MP in so they can do those things and balance them. There isn't any AI so single player balancing is nonexistent. So weapons, tools, resources, and other things are very multiplayer dependent.

Freeplay does not require balancing in MP, a simple admin menu to toggle things on/off would suffice.
I would love to be able to assign certain parts of a ship to different cockpits. Then we could have a whole crew operating in a control room Star-Trek style.
Those are for survival though. Freeplay does not require balancing in MP, a simple admin menu to toggle things on/off would suffice.
Sandbox is useful for easy access to newly added features for testing until manual mode is complete. In the end, manual mode MP is going to be the main mode to play. As such, every feature will be balanced in that context except features specific to Sandbox. So MP being implement is an important step. You can't treat MP like a separate feature that just gets slapped on when everything is done.
Also, remember how the Minecraft SMP went. It was a year before they actually started to integrate the codebase, because of how the singleplayer game was built. We don't want that.
I guess. Still, I don't want this game go the same path as KSP did (devs not sure what to do with their game, updates that take half a year, huge engine limitations (KSWH has its own engine so thank god)) [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline]
Also, remember how the Minecraft SMP went. You need to accept that MP is implemented now because of how their development process works and not because people whined about it. This isn't a game where people are waiting for new features every week. This is a development where steps to the final goal are being taken. When they "release" what has nothing to do with us testers and has everything to do with their development strategy. But since so most early access players don't act like testers and try to tell the developers how to make the game they want, the devs need to recruit actual testers for in between updates.
I also spoke to the programmer about transparency... he said true transparency like in other games is not possible with this engine. Well it is... but they'd have to change too much and its not worth it. Only hard coded transparency like cockpits etc will be available.
(don't quote me on that, keenswh forum) Heh, this is weird. I wonder what's stopping them from making transparent surfaces, and what's the difference between cockpit implementation and the rest. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline]
Java and C# and extremely similar.
Still, Notch couldn't be arsed to finish the game he promised.
