Is it an infinite world?

I think it's 50x50x50km right now? Not sure
I think it's 50x50x50km right now? Not sure
50 km3 limit that's not currently active; it's set to that due to single floating point precision meaning things get jittery physics-wise beyond that. Think of it as this game's version of Minecraft's Far Lands.
There has to be a way to save ships and build them in survival. It wouldn't really make sense for there not to be. I suspect loading the ship will produce a frame like the one on easy start 2, possibly loading slowly from one end to the other (so it doesn't just pop in) and you finish it with tools from there.

ughhh, seeing the interior damage is so god damn cool
imagine when there is multiplayer. a small ship is on collision course with your large ship. you're unable to turn or get away due to the speed of the small ship. the captain of the ship issues an alarm, and all of the crew starts running to the inner parts of the ship to prevent death. then the collision happens. oxygen is draining, power is falling and critical ship systems have been damaged by the collision. the crew must then go and fix it, gughhgugg, so cool

This could be fixed by having the player always at the center or floating point 0 so stuff near you is always close, and for MP server you can fix this by having offsets instead of keeping absolute position in floating point values.

There is a blueprints tab.
Its just not active.
Someone build battlestar galactica

Second Person.....
Mid crash, the red ship started clipping through my ship and got halfway through before the physics kicked in again and tore one of the nacelles off the red ship. :v:

it would be cool if they left that in somehow, like reality starts breaking down if you exceed the speed of light or something
Crawlspaces would be a nice addition, if somehow implemented.
Smaller areas that you could go through without having to build a large corridor.
Got decently far with the interior, then the game crashes :/
Had more flooring done than shown in the pictures, but thankfully it was just the basic floors that were lost.

Though now i'm thinking of keeping a large open space like that, and just having some of it floored off; rest to be filled with cargo pods, reactors and other machinery.

Question, can you control the lights? As in colors and such.
In the video a few posts above me i can see red flashing lights and such.

a loose gyroscope punched its way out :v:

nope, sadly
Holy shit, the SCALE of all of this stuff. The 23rd can't come soon enough.
Partitioned off the front and rear sections of the central structure; they'll house additional reactors and gyroscopes. The middle section will be sorted out into 4 decks with assorted stuff; the white lines on the sides of the first 2 pictures conveniently mark out where the flooring goes.
Still need to find a good place on the hull to have external entrances that isn't on the bridge.

Could use some suggestions on how to give it more of a defined shape, it looks way too much like a giant block at the moment.
also going to completely re-do that cockpit at one point.
i am pretty happy with the hanger, however.

Ship I'm working on. The white line is just the central axis, will remove it once I'm done building. The red squares would ideally be where the cannon turrets are. Been at this a while and only made the outer hull shape, this takes a while.

I was hoping that its the battlecruiser, because of your avatar, but if you are not going to do it I will do it on the 23rd when I get Space Engineers.

50kmx50kmx50km is 125,000km3, not 50km3

How does that work, how do I get there? I'm a professional and have some extra time on my hands at the moment.

Nevermind, found it.

Should have known that German would be done by the time I heard of this.

I was thinking of it, but then decided that it will have to wait for symmetry before I do it. Hence why this ship is going to be relatively simple on the outside, it's a pain to do complex stuff without mirroring.
I'm still going with a traditionalist design that would fit a pipe-smoking admiral though (well, as soon as we get turret-mounted battleship cannons anyway).
I want to make a Rokh from EVE Online.
Continuing the line of green military vessels, I made a dropship

I'm tempted to call it Rhino, because it handles just like one

Just a line of blocks. Done
Has anyone tried making the Normandy SR1/SR2 from ME? I don't have the game yet but once I do I'm going to have a shot at it, even if precise parts aren't available I'll still have at it because it seems like a cool project to undertake.

Great, now I'm gonna want to make it from the fighter ship parts
Ships with lots of smooth curving lines are a bit tricky with block-based building.
