why has my symmetry stopped working?
Check around the area where symmetry is not working and check for blocks that may have come loose from deleting other blocks as they will prevent blocks being placed which will create problems for the symmetry system if it goes unnoticed as you will keep building parts on one side of the ship while the other will not and will even stop placing blocks on the other side as the blocks you add more blocks onto are not there on the other side.
it happens on all my worlds, even brand new ones. When I press M, they appear, but not while placing blocks, and symmetry does not occur.
why has my symmetry stopped working?
My symmetry is working, I don't know what's happening on your end. [editline]26th January 2014[/editline]
it happens on all my worlds, even brand new ones. We should build a facepunch only spacestation server. We must build the SS Facepunch
If all else fails, just run the verify on Space Engineers to see if that gets it to work (Steam library - right click on space engineers - properties - local files - verify integrity of game cache).

Thanks... you solved my problem :suicide: I feel like a jackass.
My ship's form is coming into fruition. I have no clue what to call it yet, but damn am I loving the design. The round thing at the bottom is a rotating hangar. By 'rotating' I mean that there's a grav-gen on a motor that can be rotated using a console, so every wall in the hangar itself is filled. The holes at the top are also probably going to be part of another hangar, but I'm not sure yet. [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] It's about 500~+ meters tall and about 300~+ wide in all directions at the moment. It's still not finished

All I like to do in these kinds of games is make large ships, and while I can do that, it's still such a shame that they can't fly real well in this one. [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] those numbers aren't exaggerated btw
Try copying the ship(s) and station(s) to a new world and then try uploading it then.
It's a design with rotors, I can't copy/paste it without losing all functionality.
I could already tell it won't fly or turn nice, especially considering none of these do either: [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/706237801471916422/8788FCDA65BAC0B4A9956470ECD7791B7E6C0356/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/706237801511951059/7D6B2E706670D0B9B8671B4655A6BFBFAB60A2E4/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/684844620198794198/181D8BD8E9A7758A8B92DF67E2FAFC9999866292/[/t] [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/684844620192882750/DBADAC2CF9575371D12BC8BA3C1B59F1BA0FDC85/[/t]

Kath and I built this. We didn't build it as a large ship because if we did it'd be to scale, and this took us forever to build.
I personally can't wait for large guns to be enabled. I present, the Battlestar "Hercules" ^Closeup of the mock FTL system, it's on both sides. I... Uh, okay. Much larger than I thought. [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] More everything than I thought I had.
I made a somewhat Excelsior-class inspired ship. Interior is meh so no pics of it http://imgur.com/a/zo8OJ
This looks more like a Station than a ship.
That's the wonderful thing about space... Throw some engines on it, and it's a ship. Leave them off, it's a station. They're functionally indifferent. Except for the ISS, that's just a big old pile of weird.
TOVSTUN is a small civilian interstellar ship included with an SSTO shuttle for landing on celestial objects. It features 4 floors: -Underfloor: Prograde, lower maneuver engines. communications and waste dump maintenance. Access by central shaft (Central shaft is not accessible during burn) -Floor 1: Medium landing pad, small landing pad, 4 docking stations (on the other side), storage, control group gyros, main engine stabilization reactors 1 and 2. Accessible by two staircases on the sides (as are all main floors) and central shaft. -Floor 2: Living quarters, medbay, observation/recreation, FTS (Future science stuff) replenishment turbines for tanks 2 and 4. -Floor 3: Command and control, medium landing platform navigation deck. FTS replenishment turbines for tanks 1 and 3. -Floor 4: Recycling, production, maintenance. -Overfloor: Retrograde, upper maneuver engines, shield maintenance. Ship is balanced in two ways: landing pads/cargo on the first floor and suites/observation on the second floor are divided in a perpendicular line to the line on which two prograde engine blocks are placed. Big differences in mass are thus corrected by uneven thrust by the engine blocks if needed. For further and finer balancing on the parallels, FTS is pumped between the tanks before each burn. Large shield, which features an experimental design with only one layer instead of the usual three (Destructive, scattering and absorbing) in theory protects the ship on usual interstellar speeds will protect from the effect of a continuous bombardment of sub relativistic micrometeorites. It went through many designs-redesigns and paints-repaints. To the point that I became extremely tired and frustrated by working on it. As a result, it's a bit unfinished (by that I mean it's mostly gray, and upper floors lack some minor decorations and maybe polishing. The structural integrity and general brushwork is done). I'm giving it to the community as-is, because it would be a shame to let all my work go to waste. TOVSTUN was a wonderful journey for me, full of learning and realizations. It had given birth to many new ideas and ways to execute them. Workshop link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=221445584
One of the best "Shitposter" to Contribution progressions I've seen.

I just realized that almost all my ships are glorified rectangular prisms. How2fix? I need to break the cycle.
