I tested several of my torpedo's on your ship and so far I've only been able to penetrate the first layer of heavy armor twice, though every other attempt with the optimal torpedo payload would leave a dent into the top layer of armor whilst destroying the inner layers of armor

Somehow I've created a torpedo that can impact and ignore heavy armor while detonating inside, somehow. I also made a video showing this but I'm not sure if I should upload it.

Then again, I didnt really build the torpedo pods big enough for anything else. I might do a little remoddeling later andreplace the 4 small torpedo tubes with 2 larger ones.

The four bar mechanism in theory lets you make a door that closes really flushly, and the idea was to have a hugely armored hangar door that would effectively retract and cover the hull proper to provide additional protection to the hull with the door armor instead of having them just sticking out sideways in space or something.
In practice the amount of work and effort that goes into the four bar really doesn't make it worth it, esp since physics lag causes huge amounts of rotor wobble, and the more rotor wobble you have, the looser your tolerances have to be, defeating the whole flush part. If the physics in the game worked 100% four bars would probably let you do some insane stuff like having the door retract 100% flush into the rest of the hull when its open, and close 100% flush again, but the flex and vibration generally ended up causing the door to hit the hull and ruin shit everywhere so.
It's mostly for the cool factor, with it being totally awesome and shit, but in the future I'm probably just gonna stick to normal rotor doors.
well since my event horizon is ass and I got curbstomped by the above, have another project of mine, a double hull ship called the "Twin Hammers". This one is especially fun online when people do exactly what I want them to do- shoot right at the middle, and bifurcate the ship. One half goes flying off while I pilot the other.

please give us the ability to arm and detonate warheads from the menu. Unarmed ones don't explode I would think. Detonation can only be done if it is armed.
So I'm taking a shot at using a new ship building method with an internal frame structure containing all the primary ship components.
It's looking pretty good, and it makes WIPs a lot more interesting to look at.
