They didn't work very well anyways, you tended to fall off them when you go to the top etc.

Trying out some carrier design features, this one being diagonal landing bays. The idea is that since most people tend to think more of sailing ships than spaceships when manoeuvring in combat, they're less likely to get a shot off down it, unless they're in fighters (which can be easily dissuaded by gatling turrets, i'd imagine). Thusly meaning I don't need to faff about with finicky doors. But then again, it's unlikely we'll ever get either AI fighter pilots, or servers large and yet stable enough to give this a real go in a large carrier ship, so it's just to be ~unique~ currently. It was rather hard to balance armor/weight and getting all the shit to fit together in there. Has anyone come close to... idk, perfecting a fighter design? I know there is a huge range of designs possible that would serve different purposes, but I found one on the Workshop once as part of a larger save (something about a long-distance exploration ship) and I've never been able to find anything better. It's fast (accelerates to top speed in less than 5 seconds, decelerates similarly if you turn around) and absolutely laden with weapons, though I have no idea how it stands up to attack.

I want to build factory floor robots and automatic docking systems, things we just can't make with mechanical parts alone. I want to do the things that Garry's Mod made us daydream about playing GRP.
