I want interior shots. NOW!
I accidently found this out earlier, fell off my ship with a gravity field on it while looking down, was like "oh hello legs!"
That's exactly how I found out too. :v:
And the arms on ladders was awesome too.
So... are there any plans for NPCs or enemies in this, or is it all just player-based?
Because some sort of alien infestation thing could be kind of cool.
I think that in a game built around engineering, environmental hazards would be best. Meteor shower coming? Better start bolting on some extra armor plating. Gravimetric anomaly? Hope you can fly your ship upside-down.
God dammit why can't I have any fucking money when this comes out on Steam.
I fucking love it when you can see your body in first person games. I don't know why, it just makes it so much more immersive. Bonus points if ordinary actions (climbing ladders, etc) make full use of it.
[editline]20th October 2013[/editline]
For example, both the Riddick games have awesome full body awareness EXCEPT when you climb onto boxes and stuff, when for some reason it goes to third person :(
I know you can see your arms grabbing onto the rungs of ladders and they sync up almost perfectly. Can also see your body when in fighter cockpits as well
Oh man oh god

After certain events i have aquired a key! To bad i'm tired as fuck to play it decently. Well at least i got something to do this holiday.

This would be really cool, trying to survive random hazards.

I'm tempted to call it Rhino, because it handles just like one
Looks bloody gorgeous, that does.

As does this c:
Hey they've done it in Minecraft, so I guess it can be done slightly better here, since there are some slopes
*pic*
To keep with the Normandy's thruster placement as-is would mean it handles like arse, though. Either that, or hide the directional thrusters on the inside.
This would be really cool, trying to survive random hazards.
Would be pretty cool if there were more threats than just belligerent players or AI.
i wish my middle mouse button uh you know worked so i could PAINT STUFF

Surely you can rebind the key in settings.
you can rebind everything except painting i guess

It was the first thing I looked for.
[editline]21st October 2013[/editline]
Always the first thing I look for in any First Person Game.
Built a little asymmetrical freighter, not sure of a colour scheme but the crumple zone at the front of the cargo bay actually protects the cargo from a head-on full speed collision, without engine compensation.
Furthermore, the cargo bay has emergency thrusters and reactors on the off chance that it gets detached from the main engine pod. I wish we actually had magnetic coupling, but I have to make do pretending that's what ore detectors are.

Those cargo pods look super cool
I want more pictures of interior destruction.

daddy?
I've made it so the tug~ on technically fly independently if they ever add coupling.
That cargo is far too safe, how is it meant to get knocked off the ship by a passing asteroid?
More or less finished my weird Carrier battleship thing.

Added the side pod to hide some reactors, re-did the observation deck, did some interior stuff and did some more yellow armor thing. Was the first time flying it too.

"Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see."
It's rather heartening to see so many good designs here. If we ever get around to making an FP server, it'll be downright awesome.
So does this game have any solid gameplay yet, or is it just building ships?
It looks like something I'd love if it also had something more to it. I wanna get it, but I don't wanna put the money down and not have it develop much further.
[editline]20th October 2013[/editline]
And if I do get it I'm totally gonna build one of these sexy mother fuckers

Not the bullshit ugly-ass Halo 4 retcon version of it.
My friend wanted to know what would happen if i crashed mine into the other ship; here's some screenshots while my 3gig 2minute file is uploading. ._.

I think i can repair it, i hope i can repair it atleast. shouldn't be too hard, right, right?!. Also important note, ships inside your ship, even "landed" with gear and stuff will bounce around and crash inside your ship when it moves.
I really want to play this game. Is there any way to play it RIGHT NOW!
A little fat bastard of a fighter I made. I think I need to extend the middle section quite a bit further as atm it looks rather stumpy. Also had to stick engines on every surface, and quite a few gyros inside, so it didn't handle like a drunk elephant.

At the moment it's just building ships and ramming them into other things. Weapons, MP and certain item functionality are on the short-term to-do list, then there'll be a survival mode in which one mines asteroids for resources to build ships in a slow but imo immersive manner. They haven't said much about AI enemies so far, though.

Also, landing gear functionality hasn't been done yet; but afaik they'll basically act like magnets when deployed i.e. sticking your ship onto another ship or station.
I really want to play this game. Is there any way to play it RIGHT NOW!
Unless they do another early early release, unlikely. In any case, it'll be released on Steam on the 23rd.
I want to build this and ram into ships.

3 gig 2 minutes? Open that thing up in WindowsMovieMaker and upload to youtube from there if you aren't going to do any editing. That'll knock the file size to 30-50mb

First one to make that definitely deserves all the gold in the planet.
First one to make that definitely deserves all the gold in the planet.
It certainly has a very suitable structure for the game's current block and colour selections.
Building a mega ship like that while trying to fend off waves of AI would be SO FUCKING COOL
