hey guys, i'm gonna host today. in 15 minutes at most.
oh btw, we had that vigorous masturbation session. we all got out our jackhammers and jacked on a poor grav gen~
No shit, I even got a picture of it:

Are warheads completely useless or is heavy armor on small ships just totally impenetrable?
Granted, I had like four metres of it, but even the outer shell refused to break more than a tiny bit though I kept throwing more and more warheads at it.
Edit: My enterprise is now complete:
Outer shell of my enterprise is complete. I will make it work and give it a decent walkable interior.

I feel like I would attach my fighter to one of the back struts and fire upon the other back strut.
I'm realy impressed with how asteroids look in this game.
Shouldn't there be a way to apply that technology to ships for smooth and unblocky hulls?

Yes but it would make building impractical. There is another game that does that.
Vertex-based construction would be neat in theory, but in practice it would likely be glitchy and unwieldy, not to mention complicating things like resource cost and collision models.

IIRC the asteroids work completely differently from ships. The asteroids are static, volumetric solids, while ships are physics-affected/mobile and grid-based. The individual blocks deform, but they still retain their identity of what they used to/should be, which is why you can delete nearly-destroyed armor to replace it.

Update 01.018.021 has been released. You can now create custom colors for blocks, change the gravity generator’s range settings and rename most of the objects that are available on the Control Panel (gyroscope, refinery, etc.).
We have also synchronized the ship systems in multiplayer and added a construction deck (magnetic deck) on the platform when starting a new game (world).
Features
- create custom colors for blocks (default by P key, SHIFT+P is color picker)
- configurable range of gravity generator
- multiplayer synchronization of ship systems - Lights, spotlight, motors, landing gears and the other functional blocks that can be used on ships are now synchronized
- rename most of the objects that are available on the Control Panel (gyroscope, refinery, etc.)
- added a construction deck (magnetic deck) on the platform when starting a new game (world)
- added a second (back) entrance to small ship cockpit
- renamed thrusts to thrusters
- renamed reflector light to spotlight
- added passage block (replaces the ladder block)
Fixes
- minor performance optimizations
- fixed slowdown on some systems caused by timer frequency
- fixed explosion lags
- fixed explosion particle effect
- fixed projectile damage dealt to heavy armor (now it's more durable)
- fixed physical shape of drill
- fixed missiles ghosting through ship which launched it
- fixed mirroring of some blocks
- reduced memory usage when building blocks
Yay new stuff

god damnit
My teaser was about custom colors, for fucks sake :v:

Gahhh
Yay scaffolds!
(Wait, these aren't scaffolds. What exactly is the Construction Deck? Is it just some landing gear with hardcoded logic?)
Also, you all did a HORRIBLE job with the leaks. You picked GREEN. The EXACT SAME SHADE of green that's in the base game. How were we supposed to see that?
Should have been purple. Or mauve.
Isn't that the same slider that's in the light settings? Maybe that's why we didn't see it.
(I edited the post because I have no idea what's going on, or who to blame for anything. So I blame everyone, all at once.)

Nnnnope.

It was fucking stupid and I don't know why you did it.
Literally all you had to do was to analyze two pictures side by side. If that was too complicated, I'm sorry.
This small menu for choosing colors looks promising.
Now we just need the same thing for everything else (lights, rotors etc).
Kinda like in gmod you have big menu and a small panel to easily see the stuff you edit real-time.

"hey look im in the closed test"
Jeez small ship light armor is TOUGH now
Like, I can ram into an asteroid at full speed and be completely fine
Pretty sure it's not supposed to be like that :v:

Yeah this is a known bug

In other news, I wanted to apologize for the idiocy that occurred earlier this week, and though it's not much, here's some videos of cool shit you can do in the new patch to make up for it

The wonderful small ship block strength bug

and a video of the Athena booster frame, though this video is old and I hadn't fixed some issues with the frame ejection yet. Those were fixed.

It also weighs almost nothing now, I made the most bulky troop carrier design small ship and it was the most fast/agile small ship I have done.
That second cockpit door is going to open so many doors in the immersion and creative freedom in small ships department
Me and my friend made two small ships that looked like Mazda Miatas since we both drive them irl. We then made a track to "drive" them around. I purposely had them kinda sluggish and it made it really fun. Plus it looks like wittle cars in space.

Literally all you had to do was keep to a short-term NDA. If that's too complicated, [del]I'm sorry[/del] you should never be given responsibility ever again.
I CAN FINALY MAKE PURPLE SHIPS and GIANT PAINTINGS .
That was the real purpose of this update; to see who could make the largest mona-lisa space station.
Such drama.
IN SPACE.
can't seem to pin down that special shade of minmatar rust

just looks like i've coated everything in diarrhea
