how big is the download on this? it looks like the type of game that would be tiny despite looking nice
jealous of all yalls skills, havent tried to make a ship yet and am just working on a station, made a heliport-except-for-spaceship thing on the top of my station, i hope they add more stuff to place in the future for decorations, most of my station is so eerily empty :( [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/4Vnfo.jpg[/img_thumb]
how big is the download on this? it looks like the type of game that would be tiny despite looking nice
About a gig after installation
I think that in a game built around engineering, environmental hazards would be best. Meteor shower coming? Better start bolting on some extra armor plating. Gravimetric anomaly? Hope you can fly your ship upside-down.
There's Centration. It's more of a space-station oriented game though, no ship to pilot, but you do loads of engineering related things, and it's gonna be multiplayer.
Two more days until this gets released on Steam I'm so hyped
The game is pretty sweet, even for a very early alpha. As everyone seems to want to make something... Cormorant [t]http://myevejourney.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/2012-03-19-18-49-21.jpg[/t] I don't care how boxy and uninteresting it is. I do have a small miner thing but I'm not able to post it yet.

Whose dick do I have to suck around here to get a key?
Fuck the Covenant for having a hard on for rounded ships
Here it is, it is finally done after taking about 12 hours, it is one of the largest scale ships I have seen so far it has a full interior but it is so plain due to the fact the props are so limited.
Is the interior as good as the outside?
Is the interior as good as the outside?
Yes it has a full interior I am still working on it as it only has one level so far that is completed with multiple hallways and connecting corridors just feels really empty with the lack of props to use at the moment sadly, the fighter bay can hold 18 of my pantheon assault fighters
Hopefully soon someone adds models like chairs, tables, pipes, and other neat things like that.
I take it as overloading the reactor does nothing at this moment?
Small cargo shuttle I guess Pretty lightweight

I hope that, if the limit is still implemented in the final game, that the jitteriness gets more and more extreme the further you go, ripping apart the ship and making creaking loud moaning noises from the hull as the vessel splits apart around you. Some warning before leaving the area though, like the ENTERING RADIATION ZONE text in the VTOL in Oblivion (Tom Cruise one)
I take it as overloading the reactor does nothing at this moment?
It just means the thrusters don't work at full capacity currently.
I've been working on a ship and it's going to get fairly big [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/848093507548823939/8BD1D25139785E7244923949922A8B7166164F86/[/t] [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/848093507548825314/97F20BFC60858A71C677991D501859B6549FAF1B/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/848093507548826297/0A97AD39AD4C8428BC42780D194DD28149E5101D/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/848093507549037750/5DAA5F12E5B2D71A00231B5D1540F027742C0FAF/[/t] that is just the front section :v:
Mornin'
Halfway through renovating my fighter, I realised it isn't ever going to beat even the starter fighters for smaller profile and manoeuvrability, so I turned it into a cargo hauler. I might add some guns to it as well and call that variant a dropship, i'unno. Fairly durable too; i've made it lose half of it's thrusters and it still remains decently controllable; the last picture is what happened when I tried to squeeze into the red ship's docking bay :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/hgYi8tC.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/po5RjPB.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/KLaxjjG.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/dXmYYwl.jpg[/t]
I've been working on a ship and it's going to get fairly big *pics* that is just the front section :v:
Looking pretty good so far, though if that's just the front section I can guarantee you're going to need more braking thrusters than that :v: Those trefoil-marked spheres give me a wonderful idea for a reactor core, though.
We need some sort of wing pieces or at least blocks with differing slopes. I tried to make an X-wing and it looked like shit so I abandoned it.
Made some progress on the ship, and I've noticed it's fucking ugly. It looks like the most boring supertanker the world has seen. It's about as exciting as a German port log archivist simulator with all new HD concrete textures. Still, not gonna give up on it, not now. Thinking of repainting it in something other than black and red. Will also probably look a bit better once it gets cannon turrets (probably far in the future though). The size feels right though, it's about 225m so just a tad shorter than the Bismarck.
I hope they add even a basic sensor system that would add meaningful gameplay. Rather than just added every object within render range to the hud like Corneroids they should implement something that ties the ships power-output with detection range. Ultimately the larger and more powerful your ship, the further it'll appear on other players sensors. It'll provide a nice little stealth nerf to overkill designs but also give a layer of energy management to ships since it is possible to individually turn things off and on to change the visibility of your vessel. Even to the point where you can just switch off all your generators and stay pretty much hidden beyond visual range. Great for hiding or waiting in ambush. Or even just pretend to be derelict to trick salvagers into a trap before onlining all yo weapon systems. EDIT: a slightly more advanced system would be one that also factors in the overall ~noise~ of the ship, such as current thrust, mass, weapons fire, active modules and so on. Also the ability to switch between passive and active sensors. With passive as described as above, but active pings everything within visual range and can give you more detailed information on objects such as its power and mass ratings - and allows you to lock targets for weapon systems. But makes you light up like a christmas tree on sensors. So it'll add the right amount of risk to combat since every player in the region will be able to detect two players duking it out and can either avoid or investigate themselves.

I plan on using those orbs to hold my reactors, or as bombs if you could keep your gravity well on while turning of all engines (that way I can detach the sphere, run back into the seat, turn engines on and fly away while that ball speeds along)
also from the forums people have been messing around with the game. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ic4beAL.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/HBqcdUO.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/eI9JBx4.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/aKuxdT2.jpg[/thumb]
also from the forums people have been messing around with the game.
Yeah some guy posted how to unlock heavy armour blocks, but they seem to have very low res textures for now so using them isn't very pretty. They also don't seem to be much stronger than light ones (maybe you can have light/medium/heavy which determines the amount of plating/armour on the block, then the material which also influences strength a lot).
I want to build this and ram into ships.
I already tried the other day, it looked so bad that i just crashed it into an asteroid
[t]http://i.imgur.com/whJpfhF.jpg[/t] I sure love making command bridges.
Finally I've started a project that's actually taken off; and it's all coming together now. I'll be ready to show it off soon-ish...? (That's actually one of the smaller bays too) [editline]21st October 2013[/editline] The ship is fucking massive by the way.
I like the lighting [editline]21st October 2013[/editline] Hint: If your game says you ran out of memory to build right after loading a save, try to resave your game (not reload it!) and it should be good to go.
