Pretty much all mods add new ones don't they? There's no point in changing old ones anymore.
new ones, they are installed from a custom installer.
All my ships end up looking really stupid. :/ Ahwell, poured a ton of resources into it currently so might as well go all the way.

alright, just installed for the first time.
are there any facepunch servers yet? And other than watching the developers tutorial videos is there anything i should know before playing?

You have very little fuel in your starter ship, best to point it where you want it to go and turn off inertial dampeners with Z so it'll keep flying without you having to keep holding W.
Also there are no FP servers most of the time because there's no dedicated server software yet.
as soon as dedicated servers are out I will keep one up and see how it goes, if it works fine then I will keep it up, if not, I won't. I wish I could be more helpful than just trying :p

Jesus tap dancing Christ are rotors a pain in the ass. I have my simple elbow joint articulated. I know for a fact nothing is blocking its movement as with the rotor turned off it moves freely with the momentum. But when I try to use the needlessly complicated rotor controls in the control panel, nothing works. I got it to work once then it does fuck all but stay rigid. Upper limit...lower limit, torque. Nothing wants to work. A simple master slider with the degrees of motion listed simply would do. I really don't give a shit how fast it moves, what it's braking power is as long as I can pose the arm where I want and have it stay put until I want to move it.

I'd love this along with conveyers actually working, maybe a way to transfer stuff from small ships to large ships automatically too.
The survival is fun but more automation would help reduce how tedious a good deal of it is.

That would be pretty awesome, that and being able to control roters in a better way would probably get me playing this way more than I am now.
The game has this annoying bug on MP where some players mine with the mining tool and no ore comes out of the rocks. The only way to allow them to get resources is by them using a mining ship. So basically if this bug happens at the beginning of the game who ever cant mine is useless pretty much.
I just realized that in survival you always have a time limit from the start. No matter what you'll eventually run out of uranium and face heat death. That's depressing

They're planning to add solar panels, probably soon because I don't see them being hard to implement at all, you'd have to be burning through a LOT of fuel each day to run out of uranium on the whole map before that happens.
Realistically you won't be able to mine the whole map. Once you've snagged all the big deposits, the smaller veins will be harder and harder to find. You'd run out of fuel and die due to scarcity.
Solar panels will hopefully change that... until the sun burns out.

Sadly I realise that even if you find all deposits, due to the limited asteroids and such, making any MAJOR projects isn't really worth it until world chunks are made so to speak.
Or is that just me being a Pedantic sod?

Here's hoping for a chunk system/infinite worlds!
Also, I was playing some multiplayer with friends, and nobody but the host could see where the ores were. Like, you know how stuff gets highlighted when you're using your hand drill or an ore detector? Nothing.

That is one I haven't experience with me or my group of friends who play. However we do very often get the problem of no rocks from drill use on occasion as mentioned earlier.
I know aluns and such will never be added, but some kind of organic infestation that grows on the side of abandoned ships would be pretty cool.
