Keep hold of that save until Space engineers is fully released, then look back on it like some kind of classic car garage.

The current save format is quite human-readable, so converting in the future shouldn't be too much of a hassle, simply time-consuming if done by hand.

That's because you're building it in multiplayer, probably. You have to either be in singleplayer or be the host of a listen server and be the one driving it for it to work. Clients just get their shit fucked by physics discrepancies.

There's no way to fire them separately from maneuvering as far as I know.

But if you used landing legs, you could clamp yourself to the hostile ship and stay in place while blasting them. Coincidentially, you'd also be able to push the other ship depending on its mass and where you "clamped" onto it, and potentially crash it into something like an asteroid for catastrophic damage.

The thrusters will always make the damage sound no matter the block they're pointed at, but they won't actually damage heavy armor blocks, so you should be fine.
It's still a good idea to turn off the reactors in ships you aren't using at the moment, landing legs don't need power to work, and the inertial dampeners will just end up wasting fuel and make it harder to fly the large ship.

That was really fun. I kept blowing up myself with the missiles though, was kinda weird.
I can't wait until this game gets dedicated servers and more polished multiplayer. Damn, what a game it'll become.

My latest ship design, codenamed FSU (Fuck Shit Up)
Testing it on the Red ship as a baseline, this thing can bore a hole all the way through anywhere on the ship, and if the missles weren't a bit buggy (they randomly explode, sometimes they do sometimes they dont) it'd work even better. Best thing is, it comes through with very minimal damage (sometines not even a dent!)

Aside from losing the cockpit (which is a bit dubious, rarely happens) and my thrusters (from it going out of control thanks to the cockpit being lost) There was only minor damage to the ship. Even then, that happened when i was just about to reach the other side, but the ship carried on anyway.
Guys, I just realized something. With the new thruster damage we could put them on the direct front of our ships and when we ram shit it just burns through the enemy's hull.

I think pretty much everyone realised that as soon as we found out thruster damage was possible. But burning boarindg pods are somewhat boring, why make something that can latch on and partially burn through when you can make something that just smashes through.

Smash the enemy ship with your frontal thrusters so not only is it more effective, there's no turning back :v:

Let's see a craft burn that much through the big red ship. Ramming weapons are much more intimidating, knowing that your enemy is so commited to taking you out that they will literally hurl themselves at you to fuck you up, no matter how fucked up they get in the process.

Is there a way to toggle thrusters? Thinking missiles with the front having a thruster(but not enough thrust for the back ones to not push it forward)
