What could it MEAN???
Where's that from? At a guess the last word would obviously be suits

more space crucifixes
Do conveyor belts work yet? Its kind of a pain in the ass to get out of my cockpit and manually ram four rockets down the tube to keep fighting people.
Nope, not yet.

On the topic of symbols found in asteroids:

There's also one that looks liek a radiation symbol too.

Cargo ships?
Cargo ships?
Cargo ship ai/abandoned cargo ships/new parts for cargo ships.

Ooo OO I KNOW!!! Dedicated servers?!
According to the AMA:
In the next update there will be random passing ships that will have loot, and can be deconstructed.
I hope they'll have some sort of AI and not just be random floating objects
I want them to try and fight back as I drag them to my base using the landing gear on my ship :v:
From the AMA:
In regards to life support
We are thinking about atmosphere and oxygen, but right now we have other priorities. Interesting thing is that people ask a lot this question.
In regards to using blueprints in Survival
Yes this is how we see it. And then use a large 3D printer to let the game construct the thing for you. Or repair a ship.
In regards to wheels and things they'd like to add
We would like to add a new block: wheel. It will be very similar to "rotor" but it will work like wheel. It will also work like a thruster because it will receive commands from cockpit and so you will be able to use it to drive around. It will steer, etc.
In regards to size of the environment
In Miner Wars 2081 we had the entire solar system - which is actually easier than it sounds. It's mostly empty space :)
We can do the same in Space Engineers, so when you reach a border of the sector (50x50x50 km) you will get to the next sector, etc. We may do it this way because it's really hard to store all those asteroids in memory.
Or perhaps we will find a better way how to stream all this data.
But bigger worlds isn't the top priority at this moment.

we need to add more interactive blocks (wheels, rails, ...)
Space Engineers doesn't have to be only about ships
we should focus on a new direction where you will be able to create sub-block things, e.g. instead of us providing you with "hangar block", we can give you tools that make creating a hangar door out of existing blocks easier. This way you have total control over what do you want. We will benefit too because your creations are super surprises to us.
Other:
Access to storage containers and ship controls will be based on faction/owner
They are working on dedicated servers
Mark wants to add programmability, he says he was heavily influenced by LEGO mindstorms.
This is something I (Marek Rosa) personally want to have in Space Engineers a lot. My idea is to allow programmable blocks (or components) where players can write their simple programs that control all system in a ship or station, there can be events/callbacks, etc.
This will be great for people who create complex objects and want to synchronize the control under some layer of code.
yyyyeeeEEEESSSSS
I'm so happy I bought this in early access, if they really get all that stuff in the game, the final product will be awesome
All the things he confirmed made me realise what a looooong road we still have to go down until we have have finalized the 'vision' of Space Engineers. :v:

sounds fine by me if it's effectively just systematized action groups of preexisting items, like you just bind the numpad to opening certain doors etc.
[editline]26th March[/editline]
like you get the system block you want, attach it to a door, and tell the block "activate when i push (whatever)." that's perfectly alright with me

Unless they're small ships they're not going to have working weapons.
Maybe fighter escorts? Even then if this is their first introduction of AI into the game, it probably won't be advanced enough to be able to dogfight.

I wasn't even thinking about weapons :v
I just want them to try and fly away from me, or at least back on their original path
It'd be boring if the game just spawned a ship then nudged it slightly so it looks like it's flying on its own

What if they're derelicts? Mining vessels whose owners ran out of fuel in the long haul and died, long-abandoned fighters, civilian ships that experienced an accident and were forced to call for help but their occupants died before help could arrive, etc.
Also, I asked about possible symmetry for survival mode, since someone else asked about blueprints.
I guess that'd be cool, too
Hell, any new content that adds stuff to do is cool, even if it's just a random ship to explore.

something like the mummified space ship sections from Dead Space 3 would be rad as hell
I really like the devs working on this game
Stay in touch with the community, look to the community for ideas, and have a clear vision of what they want. Additionally, they actually seem to be implementing this vision even in Alpha; too few alphas are run like this one
I am also quite excited to see the plans for 3D printers, as I suggested those a few days after the first release on the forums but the response was kinda bleh. Between that and programmable blocks, larger ships will become more important. Small ships may be more maneuverable and less resource-intensive, but the ability to hold a frigate and drone construction bay will make large ships very important.
so much excite
You know what, that actually sounds super awesome, imagine finding some old ship with no power
You grind through the door and get in, only to find a bunch of floating skeletons in space suits
That'd be creepy as shit

This. I want this!
Be nice to have a chemistry station/block, hydroponics block, etc. With consequences for doing the wrong thing to the wrong block, mixing the wrong ingots, etc. Obviously thinking a bit of ss13 again.

You have no idea what callbacks are, do you?
He's talking a lite scripting language. I wouldn't doubt there'll be a GUI for people who don't like scripting, though.
All i want is wired landing gear. Then i can make boosters that actually work. Attach them, manually disable your ship's reactors, leaving you with the booster's reactors. Turn off inertia dampeners, fly off at full speed, and detach the boosters when they run out of fuel.
[editline]26th March 2014[/editline]
I guess for balance reasons it shouldn't be able to affect anything with a cockpit; It'd be troublesome (though amusing) to see someone piloting a huge ship suddenly spin around and slam itself into stuff because some tiny ship with wired landing gear managed to latch on.
Since recently I've been getting severe physics lag during normal operations (flying my ~6 million kg corvette, etc). This only started recently and it's making me not want to play the game.
Also for some reason it likes to fuck with my gamma settings.
Got a server going with a few of the guys from the old WoT mumble server (where no one plays WoT anymore)
about 4/6 of us (including myself) joined after the other two had started, every single one of us crashed into the asteroid that everyone was set up on because we all turned off the dampeners in order to get there faster :v:
