I'd like to see large ship weapons and conveyors at the same time since I then i have most of my conveyor infrastructure used
I'd like to see the collector block idea that I mentioned a few pages ago, with an open top face that you can place on/next to a cargo container that collects any ore that touches the top face so you can make a funnel machine and mine by hand continuously without having to manually pick it all up because it's being collected already. Also conveyors.

If anyone says anything but dedicated servers they should be slapped.
call me entitled, but I would have expected dedicated servers since multiplayer launched
I've uninstalled this game, I don't want to but I'm fucking awful at making ships, they're always ugly flying rectangles.
call me entitled, but I would have expected dedicated servers since multiplayer launched
Or at Survival launch, since your progress actually takes time and it's really annoying to progress on a client hosted server only to have that progress pulled out from under you at the whim of the host. It's basically pointless to play Survival on multiplayer unless it's with friends.
I have to leave my SE instance running in a tiny window minimized on my desktop as a "dedicated host" for friends.
I have to leave my SE instance running in a tiny window minimized on my desktop as a "dedicated host" for friends.
That's really nice of you, I think. As for new features, I think I'd like conveyors, turret functionality, and factions the most now. Turrets always seem to be the most glaring nonfunctional feature to me now, aside from conveyors (which I never bother with and rarely notice because they look like crates), and I feel like if turrets were to be functional then factions should be enabled so you can designate who the turrets fire at. Also, it would be nice if there was some way to visualize a gravity generator's area of effect, like if you looked at it then outlines/bounding boxes would pop up.

That stuff is damn pretty. It took too long to do properly though so I rushed the pic. Would be nice if we could more easily make stuff like this in creative mode.
Well, they're higher poly and have higher res textures... they will lag your game to death if you use too many, in other words
I've uninstalled this game, I don't want to but I'm fucking awful at making ships, they're always ugly flying rectangles.
One of the most renowned spacecraft in scifi history is a giant cube if that makes you feel any better
They should totally hint at every update on twitter like they did before with cargo ships

Being able to funnel things around and such (factorio style preferably) would be perfect for large ore refining, processing, and manufacturing ships. Not to mention you get about 3 seconds of weapon fire with a small ship's guns given their volume capacity.

In this update, we have added environmental hazards – meteor storms (safe, normal, cataclysm, Armageddon). You should find ways to protect your character and your creations. Also, you can now apply colors on more types of blocks and disable crosshair. We also made game fonts more legible. Features - environmental hazards – protect your character and your creations from meteor storms (Safe, Normal, Cataclysm, Armageddon) - more types of blocks can be colored (large and small ship thrusters, antenna, pillar, catwalk, stairs, ore detector, passage, windows, door - except the moving parts which is temporary not possible) - crosshair can be disabled in Game Options - game fonts are now more legible Fixes - fixed character leaving the cockpit when it's destroyed - fixed music issue in main menu
Is it a continual stream of meteors or is it like an occasional storm? I'm hoping it's a latter with a warning about "incoming storm"
I kind of wish they would have waited for meteor showers and made it so turrets target them automatically and destroy them.
Weeeelp, so much for increased block functionality this update.
Update! This looks like it's going to add a bit of spice to offline survival worlds, gives you a reason to protect your stuff and use heavy armour.

Dammit, this is why you don't leave pages open for a long time.
No conveyors? :c
No conveyors? :c
The community voted for enviromental hazards most. [sp]IMHO way off being my first choice[/sp]
Ugh I at least wanted the big guns to work or conveyors ORDEDICIATEDSERVERS
I thought space engineers was supposed to be somewhat "realistic" Those asteroids do far too much damage to big ships. I mean, do they make ships out of aluminium? Also the meteors are flaming and we're in space where there's nothing to set/keep them alight.
They also fly way too slow, like they're flying in the same direction as the space stations, only a bit slower. Basically they should be like railgun projectiles, zipping straight through ships at 30km/s.
I wanted Solar Flares like in Miner Wars.

Is it bad that that (recolorable ramps) is the most exciting part of the update for me one step closer to 2x1 armor slopes... [editline]3rd April 2014[/editline]
Also the meteors are flaming and we're in space where there's nothing to set/keep them alight.
That's only in Armageddon mode which has an explicit "unrealistic" disclaimer in the drop down menu [editline]3rd April 2014[/editline] If you look at the normal meteorites they just have grey debris trails
