they should have atleast made them affected by gravity.
Are the meteors affected by Gravity? If so can you not set a array of Grav Gens that simply push them away so to speak or am I just being an idiot?
We could have at least weaponised them if they were.
I was just looking through the SE program files, found some interesting stuffs

looks like leftovers from miner wars to me
uh, they're asteroids, hence the .vox extention
most if not all of those are the asteroids that spawn randomly when you start a map

???
become a pirate
and learn to love the dissembler
mining is for sissies when you can just turn other ships into raw materials

asteroid with a tunnel, probably :v:
Large Ship Drill:

Found on the SE subreddit, someone went poking around in the game's files, found this, and rendered it. Not sure if it's old or not though.

some major dejavu going on here, I think it was posted on the SE subreddit once earlier too, just that it was put in the game

Why don't you backup one of the generic normal files, then rename one of the obvious, standing out ones so that it's forced to be spawned into the game? Replacing "RedShipCrashedAsteroid" sounds like your best bet.

It'd be so badass if that hollow middle bit actually sucked in rocks instead of having them fly around everywhere, and maybe also an exhaust to out the shit you don't want, like setting some sort of filtering system so it keeps like Platinum and what not but gets rid of Iron and Stone, assuming you were going for like one specific thing or whatever.
That drill looks realy cool and all... but part of me just wants giant cone drills.
Yeah, those don't look like they'd be very good at piercing the heavens

Spiral power needs to be a thing.

The small ship drills already do store ores they've mined. Only a few chunks float free occasionally.
The Small Drills just magically store shit though, I'm on about a vacuum of the sorts that you can see.
you wouldnt even notice it from the cockpit/3rd person and it would just mean more physics calculations cunting up more cpu
I hope they add a feature to cargo containers similar to assemblers to be able to pull out the resources you need for what you build with a press of a button. If I want to build a thruster, it should take out all the resources which that container holds that are needed for a thruster. Have a menu similar to that of an assembler to enable this.
Oh god I hope we won't have to use those scoop looking things for the drills to actually pick up ore

Sweet looking models, though
I'm still waiting for curved blocks, not angled, curved, I want to make a ball out of round corners.

How exactly are you going to do that, the curvature of the hypothetical curved blocks dictates diameter of a sphere that can be built with them
the collectors kinda look like square subwoofers
boombox ship

I hope they add flexible tubing as well to make connecting two large ships easier instead of having to algin them very carefully, and it'd also make connecting rotating parts of your ship easier

remove steam
ban damnatus
delete facepunch
disable internet
Jokes aside, seeing as these tubes are transparent, I wonder if we would be able to see floating ores and stuff inside.

I think it could possibly be done with a block that auto-deforms depending on its neighbours to make a round apearance. Imagine if the player could build asteroids.
The conveyers look cool and I'm also curious to know if we can see the items being transfered through the transparent parts. I don't think it's neccessary and I'd be happy to see even fat pipes be used for the model. But I'm not denying that it'd be a nice feature.
I'd like to see different types of conveyor though.
one for resources
one for cooling systems (to stop the reactors melting down... Imagine what'd happen if you broke them)
One for thruster fuel.
A few for ammunition.
Oh and if we could have those tubes that people use to get around cities with in futurama; that'd be great.
sometimes less is more
