I for one don't like how there are no corner pipe block for conveyors (maybe that'll change). It is pretty much possible so why not
I'm wondering if those pipe blocks automatically extend between two conveyors or if you have to manually build and place them.
Large Ship Drill: [t]http://i.imgur.com/QANZN5f.jpg[/t] Found on the SE subreddit, someone went poking around in the game's files, found this, and rendered it. Not sure if it's old or not though.
considering it was on the very first pre-built concept ship for SE, yes, it's old. along with that radar dome on the top. Oh neat, might they add radomes in the future? As an incoming-object detection system? With things like meteors and suicide ships, as well as turrets hopefully, I think that would be really useful. Hell, it would be useful even in multiplayer right now, so you know if some other player is sneaking up on you.
You guys think they're going to do an art pass when the game gets closer to completion? Fix up the placeholder bits, that sort of thing?
I think that's what antennas are for.
but that concept ship has both radomes and antennas?
I think that's what antennas are for.
Realistically, antennae shouldn't be able function the same way as radar. If they did, nobody would use radar because of the materials/maintenance cost.
This seems to be the first update to receive semi-negative feedback because people wanted the more complex conveyor, dedicated servers and big weapons. Well, a first for everything.
Tell the devs that what they added was neato as fuck as gives groups something to do besides blow each other up!
I was a little negative in my post about it but it's not bad. It's just not as thrilling as new functional stuff like weapons, conveyors, etc.
Perhaps people just got used a bit to much that if they wanted something, that they would get it within 1-2 weeks and instead they got this. I had to deal 4 people who wanted a refund because of the update, so there is also that. :v:

I can't imagine a live person becoming so mad that this week's update didn't bring what he wanted that he started to ask for a refund.

Yeah, well, people are stupid...
Well to be fair, the Internet is a superconductor of stupidity; it allows you instant access to an enormous amount of the world's morons. Those with more than one brain cell tend to go unnoticed.
Realistically, antennae shouldn't be able function the same way as radar. If they did, nobody would use radar because of the materials/maintenance cost.
Antennae could pick up EM radiation, though. Passive detection.
Antennae could pick up EM radiation, though. Passive detection.
Meteors and non-radiant objects wouldn't be detected though, which kind of defeats the purpose of an "incoming object detection system".
i may have called him some bad names, sorry. shit like that gets me so riled.
don't blame you that much, he complained about an optional feature he doesn't have to play with.
Meteors and non-radiant objects wouldn't be detected though, which kind of defeats the purpose of an "incoming object detection system".
But it'd detect ships sending signals without revealing your own position
Public opinion in general follows a nice normal distribution. The vast majority of people's response to any given update is "Okay, that's cool" without feeling the need to comment further on the matter. The problem is, you really only see comments from both the far edges of the spectrum - people who either strongly agree or strongly disagree with something that is happening. If you aren't adjusting for that, it can be easy to feel that the world is against you. Just know that Keen is doing great. Most people understand that development cycles take time, and you can't just spit out new features every week.
I hope they add diagonal conveyor pieces, and I hope that you can cover them somehow within the block they exist in. I'm afraid arming all my sleekest ships is going to turn them into veiny monstrosities.
But it'd detect ships sending signals without revealing your own position
Ships, yes, but like I said, as a method of detecting non-radiant objects it's useless. I don't understand the continued argument here. You could use antennae for the things you said, certainly, but not for the expanded functions I'd like to have.
I love how the other poster called him a cactus. :v:
Does that mean he's calling him a prick or am I reading too much into it?
