Conveyors are out,brilliant. What's next;Ship ai , please?
Optimised my little looter a bit. Doesn't accelerate nearly as fast, but does so at the same speed as an astronaut, which has proven more than adequate for getting to and looting ships. Reactor only goes above 100% when inertial stabilisers are countering forward/reverse thrust. Could probably save more materials by moving the cockpit to the top and having the collector/conveyor tube completely straight, with landing gear either side of it, but that'd look like shit tbh. I could also have the collector tube on the bottom, and have the thing land traditionally, but that would open up the potential for thruster damage, and would mean 3rd person landings always. In any case, the parts required for the collector/conveyor tube are miniscule. [t]http://i.imgur.com/wBECqNV.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/h7it0ms.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/FCSsxPz.jpg[/t]
Was hoping they'd fix the gravlev bug oh well
I can't get in-game now to see, but are these blocks available in small ship sizes too?
Was hoping they'd fix the gravlev bug oh well
I reported it but there wasn't any dev activity on it yet.
If any of you weren't aware, don't fuck with military transports. One appeared in my map and I scooted off in my interceptor ship to have a look, since I'd never seen one before. I arrived, and I was impressed at this behemoth. It looked like a space tank. Knowing that most other ships (military transports especially) are booby trapped, I noticed that the little red block in the back might mean something, so I tunneled through it, and lo and behold! The thruster/warhead combo. I ground them both up just to be safe, then explored the rest of the ship. I was so, so wrong. You see, when I put on the intertial dampeners to slow the ship down once it had arrived at my docks, the transport was wracked with explosions. I respawned to check out what the fuck had happened, and the entire ship - the entire damn thing, made of heavy armor - was absolutely gutted. There must have been explosives hidden in every bulkhead of this fucking thing. So, in short, military transports aren't worth the salvage effort unless you're willing to gut it yourself to clear all the traps.

[editline]17th April 2014[/editline] AND one more below the container in the center of the ship :v
And a thruster pointing down at the cockpit, for good measure.
Really? I don't remember having to get rid of that one, and I can fly it just fine Maybe they added it in a later update and mine's just old :v:

I don't really know. But here's some useful info on it. http://www.spaceengineerswiki.com/Military_Transporter

Just checking through the CubeBlocks file to update my build times, what are "Decoy" blocks?
I can't get in-game now to see, but are these blocks available in small ship sizes too?
Yeah, though the connector's capacity on small ships is pathetically small; so it'll take a long time for it to shift stuff if you've got e.g. a full large cargo container. [editline]17th April 2014[/editline] I think it's actually too small to fit a single e.g. piece of radio equipment, so you'd have to shift those manually. [editline]17th April 2014[/editline] It also seems to be currently firing out steel plates individually. Set up an array of 6 to hopefully speed things up.
Even on large ships connectors output rather small, 270 or so in stone, which is too small to turn them into stone machien guns by the time you have enough gravity that they should do damage, the just phase through objects.

i wish bases were subject to zero g when large pieces break off i want to shoot off a tower and watch it go spinning away into space or convert the green base into a ship
I would buy this if something similar to an expression chip from GMOD was implemented. I would have little mining drone ships running around.
From what I've heard in-game scripting is a planned feature
I hope its nothing like the gmod wire mod
I hope its nothing like the gmod wire mod
Tru dat. Bored shitless of the E2 arms race that virtually every vaguely combat-oriented gamemode in Gmod devolves into.
Anyone else having problems with the Assembler not taking resources from the Refinery with or without conveyors?
Now I just need some way to evenly distribute metals/products between a large number of refineries, so I can actually refine magnesium and uranium at a decent pace.
Anyone else having problems with the Assembler not taking resources from the Refinery with or without conveyors?
It seems to take them once you request something to be made.
they should make it so if a portion of a station gets completely severed it gets converted into a large ship mass so it floats away.
I hope its nothing like the gmod wire mod
Hopefully some input/output stuff, maybe a detector or something as well for finding ore.
awww maybe a boulder machine gun or something then
so i tried this with stones and 13 grav gens the shots just deflected off the default blue ship for no damage :V
I hope its nothing like the gmod wire mod
Wiremod ruined Spacebuild, though that's mostly because E2's ability to manipulate props directly was overpowered as hell in that gamemode. By the time E2 became popular, everyone was flying around in ridiculous death machines that could instantly accelerate to the max speed limit and turn on a dime while perfectly tracking any nearby player. So long as they don't allow their programming shit to manipulate objects directly, and require things like actual sensors arrays for tracking players or whatever, I think it'll be fine.

No magic applyforce /ect. I also like the op quotas that could be enforced.
What's an E2?
they should make it so if a portion of a station gets completely severed it gets converted into a large ship mass so it floats away.
They need to make an 'Anchor' type block for stations which would allow it to sit in a locked position like current stations. If a part of a station disconnects from an anchor block, it will be able to rotate and get knocked around like how parts come off of large ships.
Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of station blocks actually is when we have the docking clamps. Just build yourself a large ship with some clamps, anchor that to the asteroid you want to build on, and go from there. You'll get the physics impacts you want, and you'll have a stable base. You can do the same thing with a dampening core in an unsupported station. If anything hits it, it'll budge, but it won't go flying.
