You know what would be cool
Grappling hook guns that hook on to a ship or something and hold it there while you line up your boarding pod holes
Or you know grappling hook an asteroid and use physics to hulk smash a ship
Started working on the interiors of the ship, and man it's a lot of room to fill up:
Cannon room (under each of there 3 cannons there is one of these rooms, ideally where ammunition is stored and the cannon manned):

Noticed afterwards that I left the ceiling red (initially it was to delineate where the cannon was above).

Gotta say this ship is pretty creepy, I'm completely alone in there and I expect a Xenomorph or something to jump me at every corner, not to mention the dark vents don't help at all. Also interior walls seem to make for shitty interior walls, I think I'll replace a lot of them with normal blocks.

Yeah, that would be the rectangular/monolith form of the hull together with that command bridge. That ended up looking exactly like a supertanker (or a barge as you said):

Red detailing I gave it doesn't diminish that effect. I hated it initially but now fuck it, fuck yeah big ass supertanker with cannons.

How are you guys playing? I thought it wasn't out till tomorrow, is there a non-steam way to buy it or something? If so, damn it, maybe I should of not bought a $20 steam card.

babby's first ship
Modified the hangar by moving the entrance into the very middle, and moving the end walls so that they meet at the ends of the bays. The 2 large sections at either end of the hangar will either be more reactor/gyro space, or cargo storage and some regular decks.

This game is great but I wish it was a bit less graphically intensive. I always get slight mouse lag and it makes it impossible to build anything. I had the same problem in starforge too, I hate buildin things because of that terrible blur that just kills my framerate.

God damn it, so I missed two chances to get it since I was busy/sleeping, great...
The interiors look marvellous. Some of them even look fit for a xenomorph infestation. Alarm lights and jets of steam would go a long way.
I realy hope crew ai comes in at some point, even if it's just real basic hallway villains who do nothing more than patrol the hallways and throw fireballs in a [I]doom[/I] like fashion.
Space stations that create their own ships and send them on trade missions or whatnot are a must.
Massive ship with a million thrusters, nope no frame drop.
Turn on 3 Reflective Lights, lets drop the framerate to 15, shall we.
Damn lightning.

Probably because dynamic lightning isn't really optimized in this game (causes all those leakages too)

Starforge doesn't even add masses of easy to make content to make up for it's shortcomings (at least from the last time i played). Like pink lights, different kinds of lights, differently textured metal hulls, planets made with different coloured sand, different kinds of thrusters... that could have masked the fact that cannons couldn't be pointed sideways and given an ai to control them or that there still weren't npcs in the game.

Yeah honestly I agree, my favorite ship design is from a franchise where ships are typically tiny in terms of sci-fi worlds anyways (Star-trek) and even then its tiny compared to them.

Its a shame too, because this thing is nigh impossible to recreate in any building game, thanks to the fact the ship is nearly all flowing curves.

Technically I only was able to build this because of a bug. I built a ringworld on the center star, then built ringworlds using the ringworld, which increased the production of the ringworld. Then I let it sit for a long time to get the materials and build it. Still funny. It slowly spazed out of the galaxy.
