The wheels probably aren't self pwoered yet though, which kinda sucks, and so does the whole having to build something to have the ships shoot (rather than the opposite) By self powered I mean being able to drive via keys rather than relying on thrusters.
So yeah thats one thing people can scrabble away from their grand wishlist: Large ship weapons.
Oh man, these turrets look awesome. Finally a way to protect stuff from asteroid rains, I guess that means I can turn them back on

Those large ship rocket launchers look awesome finally battles can take place on a much more epic scale

They shoot through blocks, but they dont shoot through blocks attatched to the ship the gun is mounted to.
Simple counter to that then, create a small ship with a decoy on it and fly it inside an enemy ship.
No, like if a block that is attatched to the parent ship is inbetween the gun and the decoy, it wont fire.
Alternatively, you could make a drone (once coding is released) that splits into a turret and a decoy. Flys to either side of the ship, and attaches itself, then activates the decoy. Two or three of these drones could cut a ship in half.
Is it me, or is most everything after the update sluggish? Thrusters, player movement, etc. Edit: nevermind, everything smoothed out after 10 minutes.
Those large gatling guns are pretty cool but they don't really have the greatest hitboxes/collission boxes You should totally be able to build around the base of the gun, they look kinda weird right now sticking out like that
guys guys i got it what if you make a ship SO BIG and put turrets on one end and a line of decoys on the other end that you can just cover an enemy ship with a blanket of bullets
Did a quick test with the red ship in easy start 2 and apocalyptic; they definitely chew through the parent ship, but it seems to be that it just takes them some time to realise it, at which point they stop firing. Not fond of the model change either tbh; either have it stick out as it does now but not take up a 3x3 square, or keep it the way it was. Still pretty fun playing around with them and rocket launchers, though.

Something physic-ey happened earlier. The ship I showed earlier, I added an interior turret to it and the landing pads just exploded (turret was nowhere near the landing pads), sending the ship flying and spinning at 70 km/h, with me inside it. Edit: Further testing shows me that my piston based bulkhead is what explodes, the landing pads are a secondary effect of the rotation launching my landed ships at high speeds. Edit2: Happens even without the rotor, odd. Edit3: Seems that editing most blocks on this ship causes it to spaz out, wonder what the update did. Edit4: It's caused by the landed ships, having them take off before editing fixed it.

I could even transfer from one rail to another! The mass of something was changed this patch, all my small ships are lighter than before the patch.

Anyone having rotors glitch out after the update? Any ship I've built that uses a rotor for an internal gravity torpedo magazine goes nuts, breaks, and sends the entire ship into an end-over-end tumble for no reason. I don't even think you have to interact with it, it just randomly happens. Also, kind of surprised large ship missile launchers can't be turned on and off and renamed like every other piece of large ship machinery. No left broadside separate from right broadside... EDIT: Not all bitches and moans, though. The gatling turrets are legitimately sweet. Putting a decoy behind the cockpit of your fighter and dodging tracers coming your way from a capital ship is pretty cool. Even though it's just a placeholder, it's neat.
i've just had ships glitch the fuck out myself. Landed on my pad, added a block, screen goes black from smoke, i see ship flying off at mach 10. I dont either.
Anyone else having issues with the meteor storms? Even with apocalyptic turned on I get nothing.
