Space Engineers - Say goodbye to Starmade and Blockade runner.

Then you transfer the blocks over and add the slopes and shit in after, most of the hard work is done, just gotta smooth dat shit off.
I color coded angled blocks in that picture too. You can get a rough picture in your head from that (or at least I can).
I think certain blocks are going to have multiple sizes like the cargo contairer. If they add slopes, and curves, they will probably add sizes for 2x1 1x1 2x2 ... etc. probably up to about 5 or so.
Atleast it would be nice.....
Personally, I like LSG, even though he self-admittedly bases a lot of his ships and stuff off of warships or aircraft, which makes a few of his ships a bit impractical.
The game's going to be so much better when we can group together rockets and gatlings and stuff, so we can actually choose to fire port or starboard or something, rather than having to stick on a shitton of weapons all at once. I also hope they add manual fire for the turrets, because at the moment your ship can start blowing itself up by all the weapons firing at one block.
I actually hope that, after multiplayer gets fixed and improved, they can add different types of weapons.
Machineguns and rocket pods are cool and all, but I'm thinking Warhammer 40K - Huge broadside cannons, giant railguns, plasma...
Even though it is a simulator of sorts, I want to live out my fantasies of two huge starships just ripping chunks out of each other with giant fucking guns.
Also, have you guys heard of Boris Praversham? He has the voice of an angel. Also, he makes cool minigames and stuff.
Why didn't I think of that?!

Someone should write a minecraft to space engineers converter.
A Minecraft-SE converter would be fucking crazy. It's inordinately funny to me for some reason.
Now that I think of it, though, what benefits does building a ship in MC creative mode offer over building a ship in SE creative?

Easier to move around, the ships don't move around, your orientation is always one direction, no meteor showers.

I can understand the ease of movement and orientation, but meteor showers can be disabled and large ships aren't affected by player movement so you don't have to worry about bumping them around.

I was wondering this too, I really don't see any benefit other than that your movement doesn't carry inertia in minecraft the way it does in SE.
They are right now until they fix that bug :v:
Fuck, another serious bug?
more dumb LSG theory crafting
I've only seen a few of those videos, what's the problem with them?

LSG always tries to future-proof his creations, when it's painfully obvious that if something new gets added in the next update, they could become useless in an instant.
He makes a lot of cool stuff, but half of them are redundant and way too fragile and intricate to actually be of any use except eye candy.
He kind of likes recreating lots of stuff like the tank he made, but to me that's not the point of the game, I mean come on it's space, why are you trying to make an abrahams

The possibility of planets being added to the game in a year from now, but just like real life, space ships or fighters would wreck any normal ground or air.
+ For recreating stuff. Thats a part of the point of the game because its a building game.

For the fun and challenge of it, mostly.

Because it's a (currenlty) sandbox? so why not/. As for him future proofing stuff, the same culd apply to all players of SE, why bother building anything because if something new gets added in the next update whatever anyone builds could become useless in an instant.

but his stuff is obviously redundant at point of being made though
like how he envisaged ships having crews of 30 players and advised people to 'breach through the crew quarters' when attacking other ships. But don't forget to be wary of players that might still be in their bunks!!
I mean come on lmao

What another person makes is personal preference. And affects you in absolutely no way. I don't see why that irks you so much over a matter that neither concerns you personally nor hinders you in any form.
Just let people make what they want to make and do what they want to enjoy the game. You've no jurisdiction to tell people what they should/shouldn't or can/can't make.
Take the stick out your ass.

Because, roleplay, immersion and also why the fuck not. Same reason people build fantastical things in minecraft even if they don't have an actual purpose.
Besides, just because it isn't in the game now, doesn't mean it wont ever be.
Man, so many of you are negative Nancy's.
His designs are often experimental and hypothetical, because he's letting his imagination take him there.

He can say whatever he wants, Dachi. It's not any of your business what he does or says, is it?
No. Didn't think so. Please understand that other people can have different views and opinions than you, and that's absolutely fine. Most of the rest of us do.

See, but this is exactly why I watch LSG videos.
If you think his videos are dumb because his builds aren't practical in survival, you are a complete idiot, and you are missing the point.
His videos are primarily entertainment, his builds aren't efficient because they don't have to. It's more of a "what-if" look into the future of the game, using tools that are already in it.

Still think it'd be cool if we could just go 'fuck weapons ;i'ma make my own weapons; I'm going to make my own ammo too.
So for ammo you Put a Thruster, fuel block, A heat seeker block, a scatter block with for warheads around it, and then a sensor that you set to ten metres.
So, The rocket is turned on, It flies forward, looks for a heat source and when it gets within ten metres of a target the scatter block repels the blocks around it, most notably the warheads, so that the missile essentialy sprays it's explosive components across the enemy ship rather than exploding in one place.
There's only one rocket point, so you devise a system in which the rockets in storage roll out into the the ready to fire position, where a nearby block is set to trigger nearby rockets when someone in cockpit two presses the set key.
Engineer everything. (with a few crude prefabs for everyone initialy) It'd be levels of cool. My 4 gigs or ram would be in tears of pain, but it'd still be cool.
Doesn't even have to end in rockets. You could do the same thing with guns, turrets, railguns, doors, devious traps, cargo monorail systems, robotic butlers, robotic mechanics.. The list isn't endless.
If I could make realy good designs and sell them to other players for spacebucks/resources/ego fuel; I'd feel pretty good bout myself and I'm sure that kind of community could flourish and attract new players.
/dribbling fantasy.
I think I might make a ship with droppable decoys for turret countermeasures. Kinda like IR flares.
Or if large ship guns start targeting something else, possibly something cheaper than decoy blocks, if possible.
I still wish we could fire thrusters remotely.

Fucking Christ, Nodachi, you do this every time somebody wants to build something remotely different from what you think is "proper". The game isn't yours, some people actually manage to legitimately enjoy it in different ways than you.
I... Asked for it?
I'm sorry, I'm not seeing that. At all. Would you like to point out exactly where I asked for your opinion?
Maybe I confused you with someone else..
Sorry man, not been myself lately.

It's fine, don't worry about it. Let's just all agree not to tell others how to play the game, and we can all get along and sing Kumbaya or something.
I hope a Warp drive comes to play someday to like explore some planet's and or to get to fights faster with a warp drive and it would disable weapons for a sec or 2 after you landed form the warp bubble and or warp in to a ship and blow up and take them out.

They have said many times that they are not going to do this.

and theres never going to be any use for one with only solar system scale.
Also I released my second attempt at the nova class, has detailed interior and is actually accurate to blueprints for exterior.
