large ship grinder
yessssssss
This is so weaponisable
Squeegy will be pleased.
I would like to see side thrusters help in turning. You put the gyro in the middle, try to turn up, Thrusters infront of the gyro thrust one way, thrusters behind the gyro thrust the other. Try to roll? Thrusters on portside go up, thusters on starboard go down. It makes no sense that my wall of left and right facing thrusters isn't helping me turn, Instead a magic ball is making me turn despite no visibly exhaust.

Imagine if we had to deal with gimbal lock with the CMGs in SE.
It'd still be nice to have thrusters that help you turn.
It'd still be nice to have thrusters that help you turn.
I think they do if you use the arrow keys.
large ship grinder
Finally. This will make that crashed red ship layout a whole lot more manageable. It was a pain to disassemble the whole ship.
Still no grouping? Come ooon :c
Cool features, but none of the critical bugfixes I'm looking for...
did they fix large ships flying off into the distance when you bump into them yet mine doesn't any more but it masses 40 kilotons so
This is just random head-canon, but maybe the thrusters themselves contain gyroscopes so they angle their blasts around the centre of gravity so that they only fire in a relative cardinal direction like left, right and up and down? I'm not a Physics graduate so I don't know if that would work or be possible, but it at least explains why you can have a big 'wheel' of thrusters that, realistically, would spin around, but instead it just thrusts in standard directions as if they were all at the centre.
Finally I won't need a million gyroscopes to make giant ships turnable anymore
From what I saw on video, you can only decrease power so... you still need a lot of them to make big ship turnable.
I can't wait to make giant recycle factories. Imagine a car wash, except you drive a ship in, wait a few minutes, and out comes a bunch of components. Even more horrifying is a giant recycler ship -- it latches onto you and starts to grind away at vital pieces of your ship, while constantly spewing out what used to be your precious vehicle out into space.
The ship grinders are 3 times slower than the normal grinder. I'm not joking. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed with this update.
The ship grinders are 3 times slower than the normal grinder. I'm not joking. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed with this update.
There's likely a setting in cubeblocks.sbc controlling the large grinder's speed.
An update that doesn't add much, but doesn't make the game worse, is a good update.
The ship grinders are 3 times slower than the normal grinder. I'm not joking. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed with this update.
alpha game balancing etc etc cant make erryone happy, but an update is better than none
The ship grinders are 3 times slower than the normal grinder. I'm not joking. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda disappointed with this update.
I guess this is done due to having no limit as to how many you can use. That said, they do cost resources and construction time. I think they should be like 75% of the hand tool speed (still doesn't make sense, but it balances stuff out a bit)

Makes a small improvement if you've only got one (making it worth the effort to begin with), but if you have a ship built for grinding ships down, you could get it down really quickly.
They should be MORE than the hand tool speed. The entire point to to have a more efficient way to dismantle a ship than doing every block by hand.
They should be MORE than the hand tool speed. The entire point to to have a more efficient way to dismantle a ship than doing every block by hand.
The video shows them grinding multiple blocks per grinder, though. Plus there's having it automatically transferred to a container, using multiple grinders at the same time etc. so i'd disagree with it being more than hand grinder speed. Could probably do with being a little faster than currently, though.
Doors don't work anymore for me, one the panels just doesn't move.
What the dicks is up with the title? That's some powerful anger there.
:C [editline]1st May 2014[/editline]
Thread title's too rude. It should be "yes, we get it, NoDachi doesn't like creative mode"
I play creative the most :C
Doors don't work anymore for me, one the panels just doesn't move.
Same here, and I don't even give a shit about the grinders.
Dumb question: Have you tried walking through the door anyway? I had one that looked like only one side opened, but I got through it just fine. So perhaps it's just a bug in the visual.
Are docking ports/latches planned content?
