Hazeron
Even Hazeron has clientside ship movement (rotation anyway), which is weird as basically nothing else is.
Is it going to be until thursday for them to fix the damn WHITE LINES?
There will probably be a hotfix withing the next 12 hours, if that.
If someone made a programmed contraption that was reliant completely on in game I/O, you could just snipe a sensor or a part off.
Imagine if you took off a thruster or a gyroscope and it just spun in circles. Or if you trapped an automated mining barge with the merging blocks and looted it of all its minerals.
Computers just do what they are told, even if that can be used against them ;D
So it turns out that merging with a station does NOT convert it into a large ship.
Oh wow, the multiplayer netcode is beyond help right now.
So it turns out that merging with a station does NOT convert it into a large ship.
No but if you go into the "info" tab you can turn that station into a large ship.
It always kinda was :v:
I just went into the Facepunch server, attempted to accelerate and turned off inertial dampeners.
Instantly spinning beyond control.
oh my god the new netcode is atrocious, flying around in a ship or with jetpack feels like you're drunk as (it seems) they removed the clientside movement, so it's delayed and weird as fuck
This reminds me of the time Mojang thought it'd be a good idea to remove any client side prediction, so everything including movement was handled entirely on the server-side.
They reverted it next patch.
hmm, the netcode does seem to have had huge improvements, even though though moving around on afro's server was like you were drunk.

Ok, so apparently the merger blocks don't merge the two ships, because whenever i make a sharp turn, the damn thing SNAPS OFF.
So apparently it was just my cockpit exploding over and over again.
Does anyone else keep getting a version mismatch with afro's server? It says my client is 1033007 and that the server is on 1033006

dont you just love ninja patches a few minutes before i have to go sleep for work tomorrow.
Where's the thing where you can join a server from the ip?
Small matches of about 3-4 people always worked fine for me.. most of the time it was only 3 of us but we never had any game breaking issues..
Where's the thing where you can join a server from the ip?
You can't from ingame. Use Steam's server browser.
[editline]5th June 2014[/editline]
Click "View" then "Servers"
There we go.
I don't know why they say "this change cannot be reverted" when you can just create a 2 block station, dock your large ship station to it, and the station is once again, stationary.
Server's back up, hopefully they don't decide to suddenly update while I sleep now.
But do remember, I might not be able to host this for much longer, so if anyone else is willing to try that'd be neat.
guys, space trucking is now plausible.
REJOICE, BROTHERS
now all i need is factions so i can make deployable sentry turrets and not have them shoot at me...
Besides, didn't Marek say there would be a GUI-based 'easy mode'?
I hope it can be interchangeable. So for instance, you could part out a basic framework in GUI mode, then adjust its intricacies in non GUI mode.
man the ability to convert from stations and ships and back opens up so many possibilities for exploiting the station physics!
prepare yourself MP for the destruction of all you know and love
Now we have all this controllable stuff, please, for the love of god, add hotkeys.
So, small ships can't dock to large ships?
:v:
yeah I hope they make it so small ships can have a 3x3 block for docking to large ships, or give a small-faced docking port
that would be a welcome update, keeping ships in hangars would finally be semi doable.
Now we have all this controllable stuff, please, for the love of god, add hotkeys.
at least we have action-groups for the time being.
but yes, being able to control individual functions and action groups alike as toggle-state hotkeys on the numpad or some other rarely used constituent of your keyboard would be wonderful
"just"
You were able to do that with landing gears, you know
right before the landing gear exploded and the countermeasure you were carrying fucks up half your ship
Now we have all this controllable stuff, please, for the love of god, add hotkeys.
Everyday, before going to bed I spend 5 minutes trying to mentally connect to the DevGod and inform them about adding hotkeys, that are bind to specific cockpits. Whenever you enter one, you can have different hotkeys set for that specific craft/station it is attached to, even if there are multiple chairs or cockipts on the said thing.
I just wish there was a large ship to small ship merger, would make making torpedoes a lot more viable instead of having to make them out of the same sort of blocks matching your ship.

Why do they even have the small vs big thing, why not let both use either block.
Why do they even have the small vs big thing, why not let both use either block.
that might even help with some parts because you would just hit "Create Ship" instead of Large or Small ship, If someone wants to make a large ship with a million tiny welders, Let them.
there are differences with how small and large ships are handled though
like, large ships don't get pushed around by players, so you can actually stand on them
